Karen met Hunter in 8th grade. Hunter was the girl doing back hand springs and other flips on the field. They became good friends in student council their sophomore year of high school. From student council to church camp to college to NYC, they've always loved to eat ice cream together. Est. 2010.

Karen met Erin in Kindergarten. Due to alphabetical order, they sat next to each other. Karen once fought someone in elementary school who called Erin a square head. Erin was also one of Karen's dama's at her Quinceañera. Est. 1999.

Karen met Riché in 8th grade. They danced in the talent show together. They were soccer team co-captains in high school. Riché was a dama in Karen's Quinceañera. Karen was also one of Riché's bridesmaids. Their favorite activity is gettin' down on a dance floor. Est. 2007.

Sean and James have gone to more music festivals and concerts together than times Karen has been to Coachella. That's a lot of concerts. Est. 2012.

Karen met Ericah in 8th grade. They used to play in the park with their younger siblings. They then ran track together in both high school and college. There are many memories of vigorous workouts, only to then go grab Taco Bell directly afterwards. They love to discuss philosophy and food together. Est. 2007.

Joey or Joesph, he goes by either! Joey can be found skateboarding, cooking at the best taco shop in Seward or hiking Tonsina trail. He often joins Karen and James on random Seward adventures.

Lia is a very good friend of Karen's in Seward since 2020. She is from Cuba so she has been integral in keeping a little latin spice in Karen and James' life up here in Alaska. She is loyal, fun and an amazing dancer! Her daughter Kiana is also one of the flower girls!

Iris and Karen have been friends since 2020. They feed off of each other's chaotic silliness. There's always laughter and love involved in their hangouts. Iris has become a good friend to James as well. You can find her (best Barista in town) at Resurrect Art Coffeehouse or leading her pack of dogs on a hike.

Est. 2019. Caleb is Karen and James' nephew! He is such a smart, fun and brave little kid! He loves chickens, goats, kitties, rocket-ships and all kinds of cars, especially firetrucks!
