Our love story began in the sweetest place imaginable: Connor’s family's candy and ice cream shop in Bar Harbor, Maine. Roxy started working there during her freshman year of college and quickly fell in love with the shop. That summer, Connor returned to Bar Harbor to the store to work, and—with a little nudge from his dad—we finally met. Before Connor even arrived, his dad had been talking about his son to Roxy, simultaneously telling Connor all about the “perfect girl” who had just started working at the store. Connor thought his dad was crazy… until he got up to Maine and met Roxy. One summer day, standing in front of the 32 jars of taffy, he asked Roxy to go hiking with him on his day off, which "coincidentally" was her day off too. What followed was an unforgettable (and slightly questionable) first "date" hiking up the absolute worst trail in Acadia National Park, The Goat Trail, which is a very steep and rocky trail on Norumbaga Mountain. With little to no hiking experience, we set out on the Goat Trail, (both insanely out of breath but obviously not showing it to the other), finally finished the hike and got lunch together at Stewmans Lobster Pound. We later vowed to never go back to the goat trail (we're not even big hiking people to begin with). At the end of the summer, Connor returned to Boston for law school while Roxy stayed in Maine for college, beginning several years of long distance. Despite the miles between them and through many fun trips together—often including Roxy stalling her stick shift in Boston traffic while visiting Connor in law school (yes, some tears were shed)—they always found their way back to Bar Harbor each summer. After law school and passing the bar, Connor settled in as an attorney in Bar Harbor while Roxy finished college. We are still finding our routine together in Bar Harbor, but loving every second of it, including long walks through town, always making it on the Shore Path, which is where Connor proposed! We are so excited for this next chapter together and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you. Thank you for being such an important part of our lives—we hope you love Bar Harbor as much as we do!
