For all outdoor activities go to the Great Northern Catskills website for an exhaustive listing of everything to do in the area. Hunter Mountain and Windham are a 30min drive from Coxsackie with some of the best hiking, mountain biking, and zip-lines in the Catskills. For a closer hike go to Four Mile Point Preserve, the hike is a short, kid-friendly walk near the river. A longer walk continues on along 4 Mile Point Road as it winds beside the river and through Vosburg Swamp, a protected wildlife management area. Hannacroix Creek Preserve features 4 main trails taking you along the creek and through native woodlands. Irving Trail takes you down to the New Baltimore swimming hole. Willows at Brandow Point is a hike through expansive wildflower fields and then down through forested land until you reach the river. If you like chasing waterfalls a visit to the Kaaterskill Falls is a must, closely followed by the nearby North-South Lake.
