Wedding Party

Meet our "I-Do" Crew! We couldn't be more happy than to have these people standing beside us during the most important day of our lives thus far. We love them and you will, too!

Chanel

Maid of Honor

As Deija’s younger sister, Deija and I were always side by side (probably looking like Mary-Kate and Ashley since our mom insisted we wear matching outfits until we were 10). I could always rely on her to join me in whatever scheme I had. Whether that was pouring ice buckets on our mom while she showered, secretly keeping a baby bird in our closet, or the time I convinced her to teach me how to drive even though she didn’t even complete her 5 hour driving course yet. As we have gotten older, we continue to be by each other’s side and challenge each other to be the best version of ourselves. I’m excited for Deija to start her life with Colin and to have him as a part of our family! And while I am very happy Deija has found him, I am more happy I can finally have the room to myself!

Jake

Best Man

According to Deija, I'm the world’s okayist marine biologist. I first met Colin, like Sam, because I was wearing a shirt that caught his eye. I wore a Rangers jersey to our first lacrosse practice where we were always paired up because of our unimpressive skills. Since then Colin is the only person on the planet willing to go all in on my harebrained schemes. Whether that’s walking over 10 miles for G&As in the middle of the night, playing a children’s card game way passed the game’s intended age, or skanking to no music in public at 3AM. Colin has always been there as the most loyal and caring person I’m lucky enough to call my best friend. After witnessing the first engagement in Harry Potter World I’m happy it’s finally becoming a reality.

McKayla

Maid of Honor

Because I’m Deija’s youngest sister, I don’t think anyone cares about our “how we met” story; it’s predictable. What you should care about, though, is who Deija is to me now. Even though we are 13 years apart, Deija and I are very similar. Things we both like include dogs, drawing, pranking people, slapping each other back and forth 5x fast and then running away, and LOTS of anime. Sadly, Deija hasn’t gotten to my level of skill when it comes to dancing, so I had to leave her in the dust on that one. It’s okay, I don’t mind being the only talented one in the family. Outside of that, Deija has taught me a lot about what it means to be a good person and is someone I know I can talk to about anything. I’m so glad to see that she found someone who shows her the love she’s given me all my life.

Sam

Best Man

I met Colin when I was a freshman in high school. I didn’t know it at the time, but my “Cool Gamer” N7 hoodie had caught his eye, and although he admired it from afar it wouldn’t be until that summer that we hit it off. Our friendship really began to ferment though when we started playing YuGiOh together and although our love of the game faded, our friendship never did. Colin has been a fiercely loyal and dedicated friend. It brings me so much happiness that he has found an amazing person in Deija and that they are going to spend the rest of their lives together. Knowing them both has had such a positive impact on my life & I owe more to them than I can admit. I am so honored to be a part of this momentous day in their lives. “In my next life, I want to be me, and meet you again.”

Brianna

Bridesmaid

Ask anyone what Deija and I are, and they’ll say cousins. Ask us, and we’ll say best friends. As kids, I remember us watching Sailor Moon together one minute, and attacking each other during commercials the next, just for fun. As we grew up, things changed. Instead of Sailor Moon and our own battles, we were tiptoeing around the family party trying to sneak rum into our sodas! Now, we’re adults. We have busy lives and don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like. And yet, every time I see Deija’s name pop up on my phone, I answer knowing two things: 1. When I pick up the call/reply to the text, we’ll pick up right where we left off 2. That I am about to have some juicy gossip bless my ears We are each other’s ride or die and I’m so happy I can stay beside her on this journey.

Nick

Groomsman

Colin who? That’s how I started life, void of a Colin. It was only recently (and by recently I mean like almost a decade ago) that I finally was introduced to a Colin. He was tall, blonde and handsome… okay, maybe only one of those things is true. Anyways, over the next 8 years of camping, gaming, traveling and heartfelt drunken conversations, we became best buds. But seriously, he is the most genuine friend I have (sorry Sam and Jake) and I honestly look up to him as my big brother. I really think at this point he wouldn’t even care if I accidentally said “Damn. Gimme some wicked good pork roll.” So every now and then I still say “Colin who?,” but not because I forget who he is from time to time, but because we rarely catch a W without him. Cheers to my winningest, best boi, Colin.

Kelsey

Bridesmaid

I first met Deija when she moved to town our freshman year of high school, and because I was a grumpy teen I decided I didn’t like this spunky new girl with a big personality. But, when she passed me a note in math class to cheer me up because I looked miserable, I knew this was a girl I’d be lucky to have around me! The years since then have been filled with shenanigans, laughs, trash talking, having each other’s backs, and one incident with an exacto knife that left a scar. I wondered who could ever be good enough for Deij, but when Colin came around it was easy to see she’d found a great match! Watching their relationship bloom, seeing them grow so much together, and getting to make a new friend in Colin, has been so amazing. I couldn’t be more excited to be part of their special day!

Joe

Groomsman

I first met Colin when he was born. Growing up I had some great memories with him including going Ocean City MD in the summers, sledding down the hill in front of his house in the winter, and who can forget the camping trip in Canada where he pushed me out of the raft! Colin has been like the brother I never had and the whole Wright family is like a second family to me. I always knew that Colin would find the right person. I am happy for him and Deija and cannot wait for the many memories they will have together. If you want to know more about me, however I scored 1 goal and had 3 assists in four years of varsity high school ice hockey to go along with my 232 penalty minutes.

Monica

Bridesmaid

Colin and Deija are one of the best things to come out of quidditch at MSU. A long time ago, I was caught “stealing a balloon” from the party over at a restaurant. Next thing you know, they drove up to me, wrote their digits on my hand, and told me to text them to hang out. Naturally, I texted them. Wouldn’t you? From there, we went on many adventures; there was never a dull moment! And when distance grew after college, with no hesitation they reached out when I needed them most and have saved me multiple times since. Because of them I know what a true friend is; I owe them so much. They are a couple that has loved each other fiercely; guiding and protecting each other always. I am so happy to see that their day has come and am honored to be considered amongst their closest friends.

Mark

Groomsman

When I first met Deija in high school, my reserved self didn’t know how to react to someone who was so determined that we would somehow become good friends. But sure enough, somewhere along the way, we did. After the shenanigans in art and chemistry classes, jokes in study hall, and many more laughs and conversations, she went from the girl who called me Snarkers and Bartholomew to one of my best and closest friends. Years after graduating I still never miss a chance to catch up with Deija whenever I visit. I am so happy she was right about our friendship all those years ago. Now, I am so excited to be part of her wedding, and I cannot think of a better, more loving match for Deija than Colin!

Hope

Bridesmaid

I wasn’t sure what to expect meeting Deija at my sister’s bday dinner, but I wanted to start off on a good note. That wasn’t in the cards, however, as I spilled my soup in my lap that night. While I was mortified that this managed to happen to me in the middle of a restaurant, it’s also the moment I realized Deija and I would be friends. In her attempt to make me feel better, she lied and said, “Oh, that’s okay! That happens to me literally all the time.” It was only later that I learned Deija doesn’t actually eat soup (or much of anything at all, if you know Deija)! As the years have passed since that day, I’m now a college student who spills soup less often and Deija remains a good friend to me. As I call her my friend now, I am excited to call her my sister-in-law next July.

Nate

Groomsman

I am currently a special education English and social studies teacher. I also coach several hockey teams... Ladies, he's single! I first met Colin in Catholic preschool at OLM, but it was not until middle school that we really became close friends. Over the years, Colin and I have built many lasting memories together including sleepovers at Joey Boots' house, swift kicks at Thatchers, and of course, the infamous walk home from Blu Alehouse. I look forward to making many more memories with Colin AND Deija.

Amanda

Bridesmaid

The first time Deija came to the house for a family dinner, I knew she had to be crazy. I mean, she was my brother’s girlfriend, so she wasn’t normal at the very least…That statement couldn’t have been more true as I looked under the table that night to find Deija laying on the floor, snuggling with my dog, Jaxsin. As she turned to me and smiled, I thought to myself, “Yes, definitely crazy.” But that craziness is exactly what she needed to fit in with our family! From shopping for “5 FOOT” christmas trees, to our Secret Hitler battles, or just the endless commentating on our (better half) of the dinner table every Sunday night, Deija is a great addition to our family, and an awesome “Aunt Eggy” to my daughter, Madelyn!

Pete

Groomsman

I first met Colin through a mutual friend, my wife (his sister), Amanda. I knew we would get along immediately after I realized that he was also a diehard Rangers and Mets fan. Our shared love of these disappointing sports teams gave us an opportunity to become closer over the years. This connection also led us to one of my favorite memories with Colin. The Rangers were in the playoffs and we were headed to Rangerstown to meet some of the players. Afterwards, we decided to walk all the way from the Garden to the NHL store, finding a Mr. Softee truck as we walked, before we settled in to watch the Rangers beat the Flyers. Colin is the best brother-in-law a guy with no siblings can ask for. I’m happy that he’s found someone that brings out the best in him like Deija has.

Amelia

Dog of Honor

Hello! As you all (should) know, I am the pride and joy of Colin and Deija. Together, we've shared so many great memories. We've gone to the beach, taken Starbucks trips (you HAVE to try the puppachino), ate more ice cream than we should have, and so much more. There's nothing that makes me happier than to see them vow to spend the rest of their lives loving each other....and me. Well, except maybe the Scooby-Doo squeaky toy that they gave me! And while I know I would be the life of the party, sadly, I cannot contain my excitement enough to attend. However, my humans thought I deserved to be named amongst our closest friends. And they are correct. Enjoy the wedding everyone!
