We're getting married...again!

Ashley joined the Peace Corps in 2018 and was accepted to the Colombian program. When she arrived, she was placed in a small town in the coastal region of Colombia called Talaigua Nuevo. Actually, she was placed with a family which would turn out to be her future in-laws! Ashley lived with Alex's grandma during her time in Talaigua and Alex lived just across the shared patio. They became fast friends, with Alex helping Ashley to adjust to life in small town Colombia all while showing endless patience with her broken Spanish. After a few months of friendship, they began dating and fell in love! (Awwww) But their journey wasn´t so simple and straightforward after that. Once Covid hit, Ashley had to leave Colombia and return home. They were at a crossroads with a big decision ahead. After many long nights talking and many prayers, Alex decided to make the sacrifice and move to the United States. They submitted their visa paperwork and waited...and waited...and waited, and finally after 1 year and 3 months, their visa was approved. Alex arrived in March of 2022 and they were married just one month later in April at a small ceremony up in the Colorado mountains. They joke a lot about their ¨90 day fiance¨ wedding and whether or not the show will ever call them to star in it. And now, they're getting married...again! Alex and Ashley are realizing their dream to have a wedding where both families and friends can come together and celebrate, just as it should be! For them, one thing remains true. Despite all the challenges and obstacles, they have found love together through this crazy and unorthodox journey and can't wait to continue their story together! <3

Ashley se unió a Cuerpo de Paz en 2018 y fue aceptada en el programa colombiano. Cuando llegó, ella fue ubicada en un pequeño pueblo en la región costera de Colombia llamado Talaigua Nuevo. En realidad, la colocaron con una familia que resultaría ser su futura familia política. Ashley vivió con la abuela de Alex durante su tiempo en Talaigua y Alex vivía al otro lado del patio compartido. Se hicieron amigos rápidamente y Alex ayudó a Ashley a adaptarse a la vida en un pequeño pueblo de Colombia, al mismo tiempo que mostraba una paciencia infinita con su español mal hablado. Después de unos meses de amistad, comenzaron a salir y se enamoraron. (Awwww) Pero su viaje no fue tan simple y directo después de eso. Una vez que llegó la pandemia, Ashley tuvo que dejar Colombia y regresar a casa. Estaban en una encrucijada con una gran decisión por delante. Después de muchas largas noches hablando y muchas oraciones, Alex decidió hacer el sacrificio y mudarse a los Estados Unidos. Presentaron su documentación para la visa y esperaron... y esperaron... y esperaron, y finalmente, después de 1 año y 3 meses, su visa fue aprobada. Alex llegó en marzo de 2022 y se casaron solo un mes después, en abril, en una pequeña ceremonia en las montañas de Colorado. Bromean mucho sobre su boda de "prometido de 90 días" y sobre si el programa los llamará o no para protagonizarla. ¡Y ahora se casarán... otra vez! Alex y Ashley están haciendo realidad su sueño de tener una boda en la que tanto familiares como amigos puedan reunirse y celebrar, como debe ser. Para ellos, una cosa sigue siendo cierta. A pesar de todos los desafíos y obstáculos, han encontrado el amor juntos a través de este viaje loco y poco ortodoxo y están ansiosos por continuar su historia juntos.
