For the welcome dinner, beach casual is fine - linen shirts, sun dresses, etc. For the ceremony and reception, beach formal or semi-formal attire will be appropriate. For the bon voyage brunch, we realize people will be leaving shortly so your travel clothes are fine! Florida should be warm (average 77 degrees during this time of year), so color and light fabrics probably will be the most comfortable. It's really up to you. If you are flying into Sarasota airport, Ubers, taxis, and car services are available and the ride to Sarasota/Longboat Key takes about 15 minutes to Sarasota, and another 10-15 to Longboat Key, depending on where you are staying. If you are comfortable with Ubers/car services, then you will be fine without a car. If you would like to have a car to explore the area, then a car may be for you.
Uber operates in the area. We've also used a car service for airport pickup and drop-off called j1 taxi http://j1taxiservices.com/. There are also a lot of other car services/taxis in the area https://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=taxi&find_loc=Sarasota%2C+FL.
Weather permitting, yes! The ceremony will be on the beach and the cocktail hour and reception will take place on an outdoor terrace.
March in Longboat Key is one of the best months of the year! During the day, averages are around 77, rarely falling below 65, with very little rain. At night it can be a little more chilly.
If you are driving, there is marked guest parking by the clubhouse.
Guests with rented cars should park at the Spike n' Tees Terrace. From there, walk or take a trolley to the main entrance of the resort and follow signs to the South Beach for the ceremony.
You can call Aviva Poczter (202-441-2166). She knows everything ;)
The ceremony starts promptly at 5:00 pm. However, we suggest planning to be at the resort by 4:30 the latest! The Resort is a large property (the driveway itself is a mile long!) so it is a good idea to leave yourself plenty of time.
