The Grand Valley
Enjoy peak desert season where Stef and Cody met! The Grand Valley, comprised of Grand Junction, Fruita, and Palisade, is perfect weather right now. This is the time to go before it gets too hot! This area is about 1.5 hours away. If you go - hit the following activities: -Drive, hike, and explore the Colorado National Monument. -Mountain bike Fruita. -Float the river. -Drink wine in Palisade (Colorado's wine country!). -Eat at our favorite restaurant, Bin 707.
Moab
Explore amazing red rock formations and canyons and a cute little town! Much like the Grand Valley, Moab will also be peak weather, usually a little warmer than the Grand Valley. Moab is about 3 hours away from the venue. If you go, hit the following activities: -Drive, hike, and explore Arches National Park. -Drive, Hike, and explore Canyon Lands National Park. -Mountain Bike.
Ouray
Visit the Switzerland of America. Though snow is still pretty thick in the mountains during April, and activities like hiking might be out of the question - Ouray has so much to offer. This place is dubbed the Switzerland of America for a reason. Just 30 minutes away from the venue, enjoy a rustic, quintessential mountain town experience in Ouray. If you go, hit the following activities: -Enjoy the hot springs! There are several in the area, including Weisbaden Hot Springs, Ouray Hot Springs, and Orvis Hot Springs (our personal favorite). Please note that Orvis is nude optional, and is actually located in Ridgway, where many guests will likely stay due to venue proximity. -Snowshoe if the snow allows for it. -Ice climb if there is still enough ice.
Telluride
Enjoy luxe mountain life in Telluride. Much like Ouray, the snow is still pretty thick in the mountains during April, and activities like hiking might be out of the question. But Telluride is one of the most stunning places in Colorado - and a worldwide destination. Since this spot is such a destination - you will enjoy visiting in the off-season to beat the crowds. Just a little over an hour from the venue, you can have a luxurious, fancy-pants mountain town experience in Telluride. If you go - hit the following activities: -Eat at the Telluride Brewery and get the wings. Stef and Cody talk about them at least once monthly. -Take the free gondola ride. -Snowshoe if there is enough snow. -Enjoy the luxurious town and its shops!
