Palmer House a Hilton Hotel

The Palmer House drips with elegance, romance and history. Your eyes will widen and jaws will drop when you enter the grand lobby. The feeling of awe will continue during your elevator ride to your room and as you walk the property to the pool and spa. The Palmer House is the host hotel for our bridal suites. It is a short five minute walk from Millennium Park, The Bean, Michigan Avenue and the Art Institute. Complimentary shuttle service will be provided for guests from the Palmer House to the wedding venue and back.

Train

The "L" Train

The 'L' (elevated train) will be your best friend while visiting Chicago. Take the Blue Line from O'Hare or Orange Line from Midway for a traffic-free and cost-effective ($5) ride to the Palmer House. The Blue Line Wabash stop is a 4min walk from Palmer House, and the Orange Line Harold-Washington Library stop is a 5min walk. You can purchase a physical ticket at the airport or by using the Ventra app. Contactless payments including Apply Pay and Google Pay are also accepted at the turnstiles.

Lyft

Lyft is an easy-to-use rideshare app that can help you get to places around the city that aren't easily accessible via public transit. We strongly recommend utilizing public transit and Lyft over driving. Hotel and overnight parking is extremely expensive, and looking for parking can be very stressful.

If it is more convenient or accessible for you to drive during the wedding weekend, we strongly suggest utilizing SpotHero to save on parking. Finding street parking in the Loop can be difficult and the garages can be expensive. SpotHero gives you full view to the lots and garages near points of interest, often at discounted prices.

Freehand Chicago

Trendy and modern, right in the middle of everything in River North. We *love* the lobby and bar! You definitely have to indulge in at least one cocktail while you're here. Guest rooms are smartly designed, albeit smaller than your typical chain hotel. (Hopefully you'll be spending a minimal amount of time in your hotel room except for sleeping!) Freehand is a nice walk (<1mi, <20min) down iconic State Street from the Palmer House, or a short Lyft ride (6min).
