Wendella Boat Tours & Cruises
Hands-down, our favorite tourist-y thing to do together. We use guests' visits to Chicago as an excuse to go on the Wendella architecture boat tour for the millionth time. Chicago Restaurant Scene
If you did nothing else during your time here besides go to our wedding and eat at the many phenomenal restaurants the city has to offer, we'd call that WINNING. Click "VIEW" for some of Claudie and Michelle's favorite spots to eat and drink. Consider making your reservations weeks (or months) in advance at some of the most sought-after restaurants.
Millennium Park & The Bean
This is one of the first sites Michelle took Claudie to on her first-ever visit to Chicago back in 2015...on the coldest day of the year! The Bean is iconic and the rest of Millennium Park will almost make you forget you're in the middle of a huge city.
Skydeck (Sears Tower)
Chicagoans will *always* call this building the Sears Tower. Always.
360 Chicago (John Hancock Building)
If you want the Sears Tower in your sky-high skyline photos and a 360-degree view of the city.
Chicago Riverwalk
This is one of our favorite tourist-y places to visit just for fun. Take in all of the beautiful architecture from one end to the other, sit and watch the boats and kayaks, take a million photos. If you're looking to eat/drink on the Riverwalk, we definitely recommend Beat Kitchen.
Navy Pier
Iconic Chicago site. Parking is expensive, so consider taking a Lyft or walking if you're nearby. Increasingly solid food choices and a beer garden towards the east end.
The Art Institute of Chicago
Just a short walk away from the Palmer Hotel. Save a solid 2-3 hours to visit. Must see the Thorne Miniature Room!
The Field Museum of Natural History
Do you want to see a dinosaur?! Or a mummy?!
Buckingham Fountain
A Chicago landmark. The Buckingham Fountain is considered one of the finest ornamental fountains in America. Come here after dusk to experience the spectacular light and music display.
Chinatown
Check out the many, many, many restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. Come here for dim sum, noodles, dumplings, snacks, bubble tea, BBQ, bao...okay, we'll stop now. PRO TIP: Download the Google Translate app and use the Camera feature to translate signs, menus, packages, etc.
The Second City
Improv and sketch comedy. The home of many great comedians, including Bill Murray, John Candy, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Steve Carell, Jordan Peele, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Stephen Colbert, Kate McKinnon, and many others.
The Chicago Theatre
If you can't catch a show while you're here, take a tour of the theatre or walk down State Street to see the legendary marquee.
