FAQs

If you have any other questions beyond what is listed here, please text or leave a voicemail for our wedding planner at ‪(773) 598-9488‬. You can expect to receive a response in 2-3 days at most.
Question

What is "Black-Tie Optional"?

Answer

Guests are welcomed to wear formal attire (an evening gown or tuxedo) but may also choose to wear a cocktail dress or dark formal suit instead.

Question

Does the ceremony really start at 6:30PM?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30PM. We're not just telling you it starts at 6:30PM so you'll be there in time for 7:00PM. Please arrive at the venue with plenty of time to be seated prior to 6:30PM.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest” or the name of the person you’d like to bring, yes. If your invitation says a family name, for example “The Fogelsangers” that means your whole gang is invited (partner & kids). If your invitation says neither of these, and when you RSVP on the website don't see additional guest names included with your name, unfortunately you may not bring a plus one. But trust, there will be plenty of lovely people to meet and mingle with.

Question

Where should I eat? Where should I go for drinks?

Answer

Y'all know we know the answer to this question. Copy and paste this link into your browser for a laundry list of recommendations across the city: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13XVwYcNSlf-h4TdChx1MZ9bVRJOEhXVQYlvXecz5UVI/edit?usp=sharing

Question

In what neighborhood should I stay?

Answer

If this is your first time in Chicago and you want to see all of the popular tourist sites and attractions, the Loop and River North are best. If you're not particularly tied to the tourist sites and/or are more interested in Airbnbs instead of hotels, we suggest: Logan Square, Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village or West Loop. All of these neighborhoods are filled with restaurants and bars, and are a short Lyft ride away from the wedding venue as well as the Loop.

Question

Who all gonna be there?

Answer

Us, Michelle and Claudie, and our closest friends and family from all of the stages of our lives. We love and respect our diverse network of family and friends, and know you will extend them love and respect too.

Question

Is Chicago safe?

Answer

Short answer: As safe as any other city. The news outlets and social media love to sensationalize the bad things that happen here, that happen in every major city. All of the areas you'll be walking around as a tourist as well as the wedding site are very secure. We walk around and take public transportation all the time and we're still very much alive and well! Use common sense and you'll be A-okay.

Question

I've read through every tab on this website and still have questions. Who can I ask?

Answer

Please text or leave a voicemail for our wedding planner at ‪(773) 598-9488‬. You can expect to receive a response in 2-3 days at most.
