Maid of Honor
Best Man
Obed and I met in RUF at UNC Charlotte, an important time in any man's life. After immediately gravitating towards Obed, mostly due to our similar stature and our passion for facial hair, we quickly became great friends. Our passion for brewing beer, owning our own business, shooting guns, having a cult-like compound to call our own, exploring God and theology were all topics of great in-depth discussions. Never have I met a more loving, deep thinking, caring individual. Indeed it is an honor to call him my friend. I know he and Claudia will be perfect for each other. She couldn't have found a better guy. Ian's flight to Mexico will be his first time on an airplane- Wish him luck!

Andre and Obed have been friends since basically before the internet really became a thing (joking). They met when they were around 9 and 10 years old, and have been friends all through life together. They lived together during their years at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Although Andre lives in California and Obed lives in Mexico, they still talk regularly and are the best of friends.

Much like HIMYM's Ted and Marshall, Obed and myself began our friendship by taking a 10+ hour road-trip together when we were essentially strangers (and yes we bonded by belting out the Proclaimer's 500 miles along the way). Ever since those 10+ hours of sleep deprived small talk and near death experiences (NJ turnpike is no joke), our friendship has grown to become that of being best friends. Obed and I have spent many late nights deep in conversation about our lives, theology, and witty banter. Both of us share a passion for travel and have had many amazing adventures together. I couldn't be more grateful for such a solid and compassionate friend as Obed. Claudia is really lucking out! Jared is a NC native currently studying his Masters in Law at American University in D.C.

What do you get when a North Carolinian and a Texan walk into Mexico City? A whole lot of obsession with BBQ! When I decided to move to Mexico it was a decision that implied leaving friends and family behind to move to the unknown! But thankfully God provided me an instant and lifelong friend. Thankful for our time as iron men, coworkers, roomies, green thumbers and wanna be chefs!

Levi Jared is Obed's Mexican host brother and true friend. Through thick and thin, Levi has always been there for Obed and helped him through the process of his first apartment in Mexico, learning language and culture, late night movies and even later night conversations on the roof of the Church until early morning hours.

Susan has known Samuel Obed Nelson literally since his birth. She is his dear, sweet, beautiful, kind, loving, and precious mother. She was the the first love in Obed's life, and always will be. Susan is excited to have a new daughter with whom she can practice Spanish, drink tequila, listen to Queen, and dance salsa.

I've known Obed (the artist formerly known as Sam) for 16 years. We grew up in the same school and church community and we attended the same university. Obed is my "adopted" brother and one of my very best friends. He's always got a hug and either something ridiculous or something wise to say depending on the need. He has been there for me through all varieties if thick and thin. Claudia and I met when she and Obed first started dating and I couldn't be happier for both of them. I'm honored to be participating in the celebration of their commitment to each other!
