They met at Constant Quest CrossFit in September 2019. Josh’s first impression of Rachel: What a beast! Rachel’s of Josh: He’s so friendly! In March, Josh and Rachel start attending online church as the pandemic shuts things down, and they talk on the phone every Sunday night. Josh asks Rachel in his infamous first move, “Once this COVID thing is over, would you like to go get dinner with me?” To which she replied, “No thanks.” Their friendship continues to grow over the summer as they start a Bible study together with friends, play lots of disc golf together, and have many more heart-to-heart conversations. In August, Josh decides to make bold move number two and asks Rachel on a date again. This time, she wants to give it a lot more thought as she really respects and likes Josh. But alas, she still hasn’t developed feelings for him, and turns him down. Then, in early September, Rachel realizes what she’s missing out on (her feelings begin to grow). They share a birthday dinner that ends by a campfire, in which Rachel shares these feelings with Josh. He makes bold move number three, and asks her out on a date. This time, she says, "Yes!" They begin dating in a pandemic, which means getting very creative at times; going on walks 6 feet apart, talking through the glass at Rachel’s front door, meeting her family on Thanksgiving via Zoom, and going on many many virtual dates. Finally, they are able to spend more time together and with friends in person. Throughout all of this, Rachel gets to know Josh’s girls and they all enjoy many picnics and fun days together. The girls like Rachel and really love her dog, Dakota. Josh works his tail off to get out of debt because he desires to do so before they get married. Then, on May 7, 2022, Josh proposes to Rachel during a “couple’s photoshoot” and Rachel says, “Yes” again.
