The weather in Ireland can be pretty unpredictable with rain one minute and sunny skies the next. April tends to be cool and mild with (*fingers crossed*) less rain than other months. The average temperature in April ranges from 39-55 degrees; however, the WIND makes it a bit chillier!
YOUR PASSPORT.......enough said. LAYERS!! Flesh-toned fleece or wool layers to wear underneath your outfit (if visible). A reliable jacket to protect you from the cold wind and rain. Any extra items to keep you warm including wool socks, gloves, scarves, hats, and hand/toe warmers. Good solid footwear with good tread for walking & hiking. Don't forget to break them in beforehand if you buy new! A compact umbrella. If it does start raining during our ceremony, you may want to pack an umbrella just in case! A universal travel adapter. One of the more important items to make sure you bring with you!! The outlets in Ireland are different from the USA, so purchase an adapter so you can use your electronics. As always, do your own research for more comprehensive lists of what to pack for April in Ireland.
Ireland does NOT accept US dollars. Ireland actually uses 2 currencies depending on where you are. The Republic of Ireland uses the "euro". Northern Ireland uses the "pound". Most larger towns accept Visa and Mastercards, and most ATMs allow you to withdraw cash for a small fee. Due to the strict guidelines for an international wedding, our wedding ceremony in Ireland will be SYMBOLIC. We will have a licensed officiant and exchange vows in front of our loved ones; however, it will not technically be “legal”. When the Bride & Groom return to the States, we will privately sign our Marriage License and celebrate with each other. Although, we consider Ireland to be our official wedding celebration.
For those not invited and unable to attend our wedding in Ireland, we will be hosting a post-wedding celebration in Arkansas a few months after returning!
