Things To Do

A list of some local favorites: museums, restaurants, barbecue, shopping.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

4525 Oak Street, Kansas City, MO 64111

Kansas City's favorite museum, and our favorite place to lie in the sunshine with a picnic blanket. You can't miss the gigantic shuttlecocks!

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

4420 Warwick Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64111

A small museum with just a few exhibits, located right next to the Nelson-Atkins. There's a cute little café, too.

National WWI Museum and Memorial

2 Memorial Drive, Kansas City, MO 64108

Hop over to Union Station while you're nearby!

The Rabbit hOle

919 East 14th Avenue, North Kansas City, MO 64116

A brand-new immersive children's literature museum for both kids and adults.

Char Bar - Westport

4050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64111

One of our favorite spots in Westport. Char Bar's barbeque and dog-friendly beer garden is a staple.

Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que

3002 West 47th Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66103

The fry seasoning is *chef's kiss.*

Jack Stack Barbecue - Freight House

101 West 22nd Street, Kansas City, MO 64108

The Freight House location is in the Crossroads District, not too far from our venue and its nearby hotels.

KC Taco Company

520 Walnut Street, Kansas City, MO 64106

Order the queso!!!

Cliff's Taphouse

3044 Gillham Road, Kansas City, MO 64108

Cliff's is one of our regular spots. Dependable food, friendly staff, and there's always an open seat.

Hamburger Mary's Kansas City

3700 Broadway Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64111

Support the LGBTQ+ community in KC by attending this fun and upbeat drag bar for brunch, lunch, or dinner! A fabulous time will most definitely be had.

Meshuggah Bagels

40 East 13th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106

The best New York–style bagels in Kansas City. Seriouslyyyy.

Peanut Downtown

418 West 9th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105

A good divey bar known for chicken wings.

West Bottoms

Kansas City, MO

In the 1900s, the West Bottoms was industrial. Now, its old high-rise buildings have been converted into art galleries, thrift stores, and eclectic small businesses. On sunny weekends, you can usually expect to see live music and food trucks. We especially love West Bottoms Plant Co. (1501 W 12th St), which is filled with art and goods from local KC makers, as well as LOTS of plants.

River Market Antiques

115 West 5th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105

Three floors of thrifted antiques and clothing.

City Market

20 East 5th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106

Located in KC’s historic River Market, this farmers’ market is the largest in the region. It's within walking distance of our venue and most of the recommended hotels.

Clothz Minded

4115 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64111

A favorite locally owned secondhand boutique in Westport.

Starlight Theatre

4600 Starlight Road, Kansas City, MO 64132

There's nothing showing during our wedding weekend, but we'd be remiss not to feature Starlight on our list of favorites. We love this 1950s outdoor theater and the inclusive organization that supports it.

For all the days along the way
