Maid of Honor
Shannon and I met the first day of orientation at the senior living facility. We became fast friends bonding over our love for travel, the Spanish language, the mountains and of course, the elderly. She is currently living and working in New Zealand with her older sister while figuring out what she wants to do next!
Bridesmaid
Sarah has been lucky enough to be stuck with me since the day I was born. She is my older cousin, by 6 months, and we have been inseparable most of our lives. In high school we were know to some as Clara and Sarah the rhyming cousins. Sarah is currently pursuing her masters in social work and hopes to work with children in the future.
Bridesmaid
Sarah was my RA freshman year at MSU. While we didn’t spend much time together when she was my RA, we proceeded to keep in touch and spend much more time together the following year. Lots of time spent together in the great outdoors and lots of cooking! She then spent two years in Korea teaching English, although her degrees are in history and French. We are lucky enough to have her back stateside and she is teaching in Utah at the moment!
Bridesmaid
Cathryn has been my friend since the second grade when we moved back to Minnesota. We became instant friends and maintained our friendship through middle school, high school and college, even though we were in different states. Cathryn graduated with a degree in Art History and currently is working on an organic produce farm!
Best Man
Unlike the rest of the goons, I did not meet Aric at work. Aric is my older brother and I’ve known him my entire life. It’s safe to say that I wouldn’t be who I am today without him. He was the one who introduced me to video games. I wouldn’t have gotten as early and big a jump into music without sneaking into his room and stealing his CDs without his knowledge (I wasn’t that sneaky, he knew). He was the one who ignited my passion in food and cooking. He was the one who introduced me to delicious craft beer when I turned 21 and we lived together. He’s the best big brother and I love him and I’m honored to have him be my best man. Plus he’s half responsible for giving us all Ashlyn, so bonus points there.
Groomsman
What to say about Kegan? Kegan is one of the greatest humans I know and an excellent friend. He has a lust for life that is infectious and we have had many great times over the years. We initially met at work, and our friendship blossomed from there. Kegan is a fellow connoisseur of classic hip hop and terrible sci-fi and action movies, and I love him for it. We have brewed beer together and played D&D together and I can’t think of many people I’d rather spend time with than Tall Guy. You’ll know him when you see him, he’ll be the guy who’s laugh lights up the room. I had to have him be a part of this.
Groomsman
I would try to write something hilarious or more insightful, but the bottom line is this: Nick is one of the greatest people I know. As with most of the rest of these goons, I met Nick at work and our friendship grew from there. Nick is an excellent human being and an even better friend. He has taught me a lot through the years inside and out of the kitchen and there’s nobody I’d rather crack a bottle of wine open with and have a dinner party. He’s generous almost to a fault and is always there when you need him. He’s helped me out of a sticky situation or two in the past and I couldn’t be happier to have him be a part of this. Plus, Scarlett loves him dearly, so that doesn’t hurt.
Groomsman
In keeping with a theme, Austin and I really started becoming friends at work, although he’s actually one of the first people I met when I moved to Bozeman over a decade ago. Austin is one of the best friends a guy could ask for. He’s the type of friend who’d offer you the shirt off his back...literally. He’s the only person in real life who’s offered me the shirt off his back. That’s just the person he is. He’s so generous and caring and often puts the needs of his friends and loved ones before his own. I learned that first hand when I was sick and going through chemo. He was my roommate at the time and always asked what he could do for me. He’s generous, hilarious, and is so weird and I mean that in the best way. There was no way he wasn’t going to be part of this.
Officiant
Tyler is my boss at work, but he is also a very dear friend. He’s a full-blown crazy person, but also one of the greatest people I know. Whether side by side on the line at work, or hiking through the woods together, Tyler and I have shared a lot of great times together. He’s taught me a lot inside and out of the kitchen and his knowledge and guidance and wisdom have meant a lot to me through the years. He’s smart, capable, very funny, and a gracious host and I couldn’t be happier to have him officiate for us. There’s few people I can think of I’d rather have up there with me on the big day. And he has an adorable family I love so that doesn’t hurt either.
Ring Bearer
Logan is part of the Foster family that I love dearly. He is a WILD child but he is also so sweet and has a smile that will light up a room and I’m excited for him to be part of this celebration.
Flower Girl
Ashlyn is Cory’s niece and will be 10 at our wedding. She is a spunky, active, adventurous girl with a love for anything sweet. She is very excited that she will be a part of the wedding and can’t wait to “force friend” so many new people!
Flower Girl
Sydney will have just turned 5 on our wedding day and is an incredibly smart, courageous, spunky little girl who I am lucky enough to nanny for. She frequently likes to dress up as a princess and is excited to be fancy for the wedding!
Flower Girl
Layla will be just under 3 years old at our wedding. She is a very exuberant, thoughtful, brave, adventurous girl. I am lucky enough to also be her nanny since before she was born. She is also very excited to be a part of the wedding!
