Question

How do I get to the wedding?

Answer

The wedding is located in La Mesa, New Mexico. It's directly in the middle between El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico. We recommend you fly into El Paso, rent a car or rideshare (you can let Claire and Spencer know if you would like to catch a ride) and then book your accommodations in Las Cruces. We have several different accommodations recommended on our Travel page!

Question

How far away is the wedding from the airport?

Answer

The El Paso airport is 35 miles from the Bigbee Farm, or about 40 minutes. However, we recommend you stay in Las Cruces, which is 53 miles/minutes from the El Paso airport. If you decide to go the road trip route, plan for about 3 1/2 hours from the Albuquerque airport.

Question

What do I wear to a pecan farm wedding in southern New Mexico?

Answer

-Comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting dusty (We’ll be out standing in our field!) -Ladies - don’t wear heels, wear wedges (or some sweet cowboy boots) -Guys - no tie necessary -Prepare for a cool evening (temperatures will range from 70 to 45 degrees fahrenheit)

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

We love dogs, but the farm already comes equipped with a couple of super awesome dogs, Copper and Ishi. Let's keep it dog-free so we're not worried about the road!

Question

Should I bring my kiddos?

Answer

Just let us know! We plan to have some kid-friendly games and activities. We also might get a babysitter if enough kids are coming.

Question

What's up with New Mexico?

Answer

It's not really new. It's not really Mexico.

Question

Looks like we'll be pretty close to Mexico...should I go?

Answer

Mexico! Que viva! What an adventure it would be to go to Juarez, but, please consider the dangers of this insane drug-cartel dominated city. While it has improved for safety in the past few years, it's still pretty sketchy. And we want you at our wedding!

Question

Is El Paso cool?

Answer

A legit border town with Juarez, Mexico, El Paso has some pretty authentic little nooks & crannies. Check out our Things to Do tab for more info.

Question

Should I drive to the wedding? Will there be a shuttle?

Answer

We will have a safe ride home for you after the ceremony if you do not plan to drive home. We ask that you please carpool to the wedding and do not drink and drive!

Question

If I have time for one extra 'thing' in New Mexico to see or do, what should it be?

Answer

While we know you're going to fall in love with the hot chile, please don't miss out on the chance to see the White Sands National Monument. It's about an hour from La Mesa wedding site and 45 minutes from Las Cruces. Remember to bring your passport as there is a border checkpoint between La Mesa and White Sands! (We are that far south!)
