Staying in the area

The Wedding Website of Dan Cross and Claire Hindley

General advice on locations

The ceremony (Ormskirk) and reception (Croston) are a 20 minute drive apart, and given that there is ample parking around Church, our tip would be to book accommodation closer to the reception. Hopefully most people will be able to drive to Church first, and then park near the reception or even at their accommodation if you choose a place in/near to Croston. Other villages nearby would be Rufford, Mawdesley, Eccleston and Burscough. There's some ideas below and if you have any questions, feel free to message Claire on 07494915306

Hotels

Rufford Arms Hotel Parr Hall Farm, Eccleston Briars Hall Hotel, Burscough

AirBnBs/ own place

It's a rural area with lots of nice villages and homes for weekend rentals. AirBnB and booking.com are commonly used, but do look on Google in general as there are some more independent places that aren't on the large websites

Good food & fun spots

Our favourite local pubs for dinner: The Hesketh, Rufford (Friday drinks meet-up) The Ship Inn, Lathom The Hop Vine, Burscough The Ring O' Bells, Ormskirk x Best brunch and daytime food spots: The Boathouse Brasserie, Rufford Lagom Bakery, Burscough (no seating but exceptional pastries) Cedar Farm Galleries, Mawdesley (also has independent stores, art and farm animals) Thyme On the Yarrow, Croston Tastebuds at The Wharf, Rufford
