It all began in the Summer of 2016, following graduation from Penn State. Fresh out of college we were ready to begin our professional careers. And on the same day in mid-July, we started our first full-time jobs working for the same company. It didn't take long for us to find ourselves in many of the same training's throughout that first year. As time went on, we became friends bonding over similar interests. We began playing volleyball together, going out for trivia nights, checking out new breweries, and watching Penn State football on the weekends. Before either of us really knew it, the relationship that started as a friendship quickly became more. And that following April we started dating. From dinner dates to weekend getaways, we were quickly falling in love. Whether we were hiking, biking, or skiing, camping at Ohiopyle or traveling to Colorado, we loved doing it together. We became best friends. And in the summer of 2020, we moved into our apartment and began building a life together. Fast forward to the Spring of 2023 when it was a cold and wet April morning at Deep Creek Lake. This particular day was our 6th anniversary and, it took some convincing but, we finally agreed to go for a hike near Swallow Falls. The hike was a short loop and was supposed to end with waterfall where Brandon had planned to pop the question. However, with a few other things on his mind, Brandon lead Claire and her brother, Patrick, in the wrong direction around the loop. As we approached the waterfall, Brandon quickly realized that we had gone the wrong way, but it was too late. The nerves quickly set-in and he knew he couldn't wait any longer. After asking Patrick for a picture, we posed in front of the waterfall and Brandon sneakily reached into his pocket for the ring. As Brandon got down on one knee, Patrick caught the moment perfectly. We're pretty sure she said, "YES!", but neither of us really remember what we said... but that's not the point. The point is we're so excited and so happy and we're looking forward to a life-long adventure together! And we can't wait to celebrate with you!
