We met on the first day of college, in our first class. Although we wouldn't have admitted it at the time, we both had a bit of a crush on the other. Probably for the better, we had terrible timing for about three years, so by our last year of college we were no more than friendly strangers. But we had three evening classes together each week that year. When Claire asked Alec to get drinks after the first day of the semester, it seemed like the only natural thing to do. Luckily for us, the timing was finally right. Looking back, it feels like good luck, but it was clearly more than that. We are not people to rush into things. We have found a great joy in building our life slowly and intentionally, testing things out, thinking them through, and cultivating something truly beautiful. Now, on the tenth anniversary of the day we met and the seventh anniversary of our relationship, we are overjoyed to celebrate our marriage with you all.
