The Burr Mansion is located at 739 Old Post Road in Fairfield, CT, less than a mile off of I-95 at exit 22. For anyone who would prefer to take public transit, it is only a half-mile from the Fairfield train station (Metro-North New Haven line).
Yes. There is a large parking lot behind the venue located adjacent to the Fairfield Building Department.
We've reserved hotel blocks at three hotels close to the venue, and transportation will be provided from each hotel to the venue on the day of the wedding. We kindly ask only guests who are staying in the hotels use the transportation. Buses will depart the Doubletree at 2:45 p.m. and the Residence Inn at 3 p.m. Buses will leave the Burr Mansion and return to the Residence Inn and the Doubletree at 10:15 p.m.
At the risk of jinxing ourselves, our plan is to hold the ceremony in the venue’s gardens. The reception will be held in a large tent. In the event of inclement weather (which of course isn’t going to happen), the ceremony will also take place in the tent. During the cocktail hour, guests will have the opportunity to explore the historic mansion. A word of caution: Stay away from stiletto heels, as they may sink into the grass.
Semi-formal, please. For men, suits are great, as are blazers and some sharp pants. For women, a knee- or ankle-length dress—or a snazzy jumpsuit. Despite our venue’s Colonial history, we won’t make you wear a tri-corner hat or pantaloons, but please no jeans or golf shirts, either.
Your presence is plenty but if you wish to bring a gift on our wedding date we will have a table for gifts/cards set up at the venue.
Email Dan (gartland.dan@gmail.com) or Ciera (cieravelarde@gmail.com) with any other questions. We’ll be happy to help.
