Ciera & Dan met like any other millennial couple meets these days: online! Ciera was intrigued by Dan’s Jeopardy photo — and Dan was instantly drawn to Ciera’s smile. Good thing they both swiped right!

 On their first date, Dan picked out a cute bar in Soho — which happened to be closed for the night. Rolling with the punches, they changed course to a dive bar and talked the night away. After a few more dates and a very awkward first kiss outside of a subway station (listen — dating in NYC presents unique challenges!), they both realized they had a connection unlike any they’d had before. Ciera had never met a guy as funny or as smart as Dan, and Dan had never met a girl who actually thought he was funny! You hold onto love like that! Ciera realized Dan was the one during a leaf-peeping trip in Connecticut when she looked over at Dan as Taylor Swift’s “Call It What You Want” was playing in the car — suddenly, among the changing leaves, she knew with certainty this is what true love felt like. On Ciera’s 25th birthday trip to Vermont, among picturesque snowy mountains and brewery hopping, Dan knew he’d be asking her to marry him one day. Yada yada yada…several years and a global pandemic later…Dan concocted a grand plan to propose to Ciera—actually a few different plans, including a walk to a lighthouse that ended up being a breeding ground for mosquitoes (we have the photos to prove that’s NOT an exaggeration). Finally, Dan took Ciera to his favorite place in the world — a waterfront park in historic Southport. She of course said yes, and then Dan quickly rushed her back home so she could do her hair and makeup. Little did she know their entire family and their closest friends were waiting to surprise her at their favorite restaurant! It was the best day of their lives….until September 4, 2022 of course!
