Once a booming mining town, the town is now abandoned but a local favorite for you history buffs. The road is narrow and winding and will likely not be encouraged driving by your rental car provider, but a great day trip for those of you traveling from afar with kiddos.
Georgetown is the nearby mountain lake with plenty of opportunities for recreating and camping. It is a shallow lake and provides great, warm swimming by August.
Are you an adrenaline junkie? Fond of dust and skinning the palms of your hands? Discovery bike park is located just outside of Philipsburg and honestly a very fun downhill biking adventure. Has Cicily fallen off of her bike and been laughed at by 12 year olds here? Maybe, but it was fun and she'll do it again.
We hope you're bringing insulin because Philipsburg is home to an incredible old-timey sweet shop that pulls their own taffey and makes the most insane fudge. They are closed on Saturdays, but if you are hanging out for the weekend, this is a must see before you leave town on Sunday.
