Milan Malpensa Airport - MXP

Milan has two recommended airports (Malpensa and Linate). Malpensa (MXP) is an international airport about a 50 minute drive to the wedding venue in Lake Como. Malpensa is the largest and handles the most long-haul international flights. Italy is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST) so over night flights are recommended.

Milan Linate Airport - LIN

Milan Linate (LIN) is an international airport located about an hour drive from the wedding venue in Lake Como. Linate is closest to the Milan city center and serves mostly flights from within Italy and Europe.

CAR SERVICE OR RENTAL CAR Hiring a driver or renting a car are the best ways to get to Lake Como from the Milan airports. We strongly encourage guests to reserve their car service or rental car in advanced of arriving to the airport. The car ride is about an hour. TAXI To book a taxi ride to and from the airport you can call the number +39 02 7777 or using the MiT app (Milan in Taxi). There are several trains that will take you take you there directly, with no transfer, in under an hour. The train station in Lake Como is ‘Como San Giovanni’. Kindly note, the lake is very spread out and we will likely only be organizing transportation to the wedding venue from select hotels. This is something to keep in mind if you decide to stay at a different hotel or Airbnb. We recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible given availability and pricing in the region. *Please note: Taxis are not as prevalent around the lake, as you may be used to at home. Taxis / car service can be expensive in Lake Como and Ubers are not available.*

For those who want loyalty points from a hotel chain, the Hilton is an option located walkable to Como town (though depending on the location may be 20 min walk). This hotel is the furthest walk from a ferry station compared to others on this list (18 min). The hotel also features a popular terrace bar for an aperitif with nice views of the lake and a heated pool. For those who want a 5 star experience, this hotel located right on the lake and the bride and groom will be staying here. This hotel located in the town of Tremezzo. It is the furthest hotel we are recommending from the town of Como, but can access that town via ferry which is close by. This hotel is 5 stars and features a stunning lake side pool, a garden pool, spa, and several restaurants and bars. Nearby attractions: Villa Carlotta, Cantina Follie wine bar, and more Kindly note, we could not get a room block at this hotel and it is a splurge when comparing to other hotels we have on this list.
