We have had some recent updates to our location and time. Thank you all for your understanding and flexibility! We are hoping this new location and date will be easier for everyone traveling as well, since it is located a lot closer to a major city and airport. The new venue is The Gray Dove in Ooltewah, TN. This is 20 minutes outside of Chattanooga. New wedding date will be September 21st 2024!
Let's start by pointing out that Christy loves a good deal. Especially if this deal is found by way of Craigslist. Well, ten years ago in New Orleans, she may have stumbled upon her best deal yet. Christy was feeling the itch to learn the guitar one day and decided to look up local lessons in the area on none other than her favorite deal finding website. After a short scroll, a post caught her eye. It read, "Guitar Lessons and All the Cheap Beer You Can Drink". Christy, not being one to turn down a good time, and the fact that this young man was offering it for free, decided this was a deal she couldn't pass up! Plus, there may have been a picture attached to this ad and the young man in question wasn't too bad looking as far as Christy could tell. So she replied to this young man's message and, despite her then female cop roommate's concern, went on her way to her first lesson. (Not without her cop friend tracking her location though, just to be safe.) She pulled up to the address to find a house that appeared condemned - 2x4s in place of ornate columns, scaffold around half the house, and a chain-linked fence surrounding it. Not one to be deterred easily, she still got out. The young man from the post greeted her and introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Jereme, it's nice to meet you. I'm terribly sorry, but my landlord locked the fence and the only way we can get inside is by jumping the fence. I understand if you would like to reschedule and I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience." Christy, never backing down from a challenge, and sometimes lacking concern for her own safety, replied rather confidently, "Oh don't worry, I'm from Tennessee, this ain't the first time I've jumped a fence!" And the rest is history. Ten years later, Christy still doesn't know how to play the guitar. But she found something far more valuable. A love that will last her a lifetime.
