This is an adult-only celebration. We love your little ones, but we’re keeping this weekend just for the grown-ups.
Think comfy cowboy. Boots, jeans, flannels, sundresses, and whatever makes you feel relaxed and ready to enjoy a Montana mountain day.
Two options: Glacier Park International Airport (GPIA) in Kalispell, or Great Falls (GTF). Every other airport in Montana will be a several-hour (4-6) drive to the location.
Yes. Glacier is very spread out, and public transportation is basically nonexistent. We highly recommend renting a car if you’re flying in. Pro tip: Keep at least a half tank of gas at all times. Gas stations are few and far between.
Late August in Glacier usually means sunny days and cool evenings, but the weather can change fast in the mountains. Pack layers just in case. Bring sunscreen and a jacket.
It’s spotty. You’ll have better luck in towns like St. Mary or Kalispell, but don’t expect much inside the park. Consider it a great excuse to unplug.
Yes. Glacier National Park requires a vehicle entry pass. You can purchase one for $35 at any of the park entrances, and they are good for 7 days.
The GNP Website will have the most updated information from Park Services. Website below (copy and paste into a browser) https://www.nps.gov/glac/index.htm
Glacier is split by the mountains. The West Side is more developed with more lodging and shops. The East Side is quieter and closer to our ceremony. If you’re staying on the West Side, you can still drive across Going-to-the-Sun Road to reach the wedding just plan ahead, as it’s about a 2+ hour drive.
We’ll be in bear country, so it’s smart to be prepared, especially if you’re planning to hike. We recommend picking up bear spray once you arrive (do not pack it in your luggage, it’s not allowed on planes). Most airports and rental spots have return bins so you can drop it off before flying home, or just give it to us, it will be used.
