One of our favorite coffee shops in Seattle. They have a few locations around town.
Cash only. Best for groups of 2 or less. Know your order before you enter the restaurant. Be prepared to be told to move tables after you are seated or for all the cooks to take their break right after you order. Really really good Thai food! Despite its quirks we love this spot.
Watch the flying fish and pick up some fresh flowers. We also really like Jack’s seafood stall across from the entrance of the market and Rachel’s Ginger Beer on the same side of the street. The first Starbucks is also located across from the market. Bring some gum to stick on the gum wall.
Urban hiking at its finest. We like to take in the views from the lighthouse at the beach.
Ryan’s favorite ice cream spot. He recommends the vegan chocolate ice cream. Various locations around the city.
Walk up the street to visit the troll or walk down to the water to see the houseboats on Lake Union.
Rotating coffee from around the world.
Bainbridge Organic Distillers was Washington State's first distillery producing USDA Certified Organic spirits, and they are the state's only distillery producing 100% of its organic spirits from scratch, on site in their own distillery.
Stacy recommends The Goodship Coffee and Dark chocolate bar. Ryan recommends that you pace yourself.
Get yourself a margarita from Agua Verde and then rent a paddle board or kayak and take in views of Lake Union.
We recommend only going up on a clear day.
We like to go for brunch and get bottomless mimosas and oysters.
Several locations around town serving brunch and lunch. Ryan recommends ordering something that comes with a trip to the toppings bar.
Open on Saturdays from 9am - 1pm in downtown Bainbridge.
Best gourmet sandwiches in the PNW. If there is anywhere we recommend you eat on Bainbridge this is it. They also have a fancy restaurant under the same name next door that is open for dinner.
A Belgian style pub with every beer you can think of and more. We also like the mussels and frites. 21+
The actual hotel has some questionable reviews, but suggest you have a cup of tea from this Japanese tea house as it is a meaningful piece of Seattle’s history. In response to the attack on Pearl Harbor, a United States executive order relocated Japanese residents, regardless of citizenship, to camps. Locals turned to the Panama Hotel for a secure place to hide their personal belongings. Some of which are still unclaimed and can be viewed from the glass floor in the back of the shop.
Ryan would like you to know that they have a twelve egg omelette on the menu at this hole in the wall. Stacy would like you to know that you do not receive any recognition or compensation for eating the entire omelette and suggests going anywhere else in town. We are a house divided on this one.
Did you know Seattle has an underground city? Stacy also recommends checking out Damn the Weather for a drink and bite to eat after the tour.
MoPOP is Seattle’s tribute museum to the history of Northwest music, from Jimi Hendrix to Nirvana and much more. Originally named the Experience Music Project, in the Venn diagram of 20th-century creativity, this is where Isaac Asimov meets Kurt Cobain.
Beach with views of the Olympic mountains.
Great coffee shop (that serves Herkimer) in downtown Bainbridge. A great stop before the ferry.
Pelindaba Lavender Bainbridge Island offers handcrafted lavender products made exclusively at Pelindaba Lavender Farm on San Juan Island.
Located on Winslow Way East just one block from the island ferry terminal, Bainbridge Brewing Alehouse is a great place to enjoy NW craft beer, cider and wine in a relaxed casual environment. A favorite of island residents and visitors alike. 21+
Internationally-recognized for the inspirational beauty of its refined gardens, natural landscapes, and preserved forests, Bloedel also excels in environmental stewardship of its 150 acres. Open year-round, there’s something new to discover in every season: ever-changing landscapes, guided walks, expert lectures, summer concerts, special seasonal events, and more.
Greg Atkinson’s contemporary Pacific Northwest Bistro is open for lunch and dinner. Situated near the Bainbridge Island Farmers’ Market in downtown Winslow, the restaurant is a nod to “Cuisine du Marché,” a style of cooking that relies on fresh, local ingredients from the market to inform the daily menu.
Family-friendly pizza pub with live music & a separate room with pool tables & darts.
For those who may have a few extra days in town we recommend heading up to Vancouver BC which is only a 2.5 hour drive from Seattle. You can also take a ferry called the Clipper (no cars aboard) or the Amtrak up north. We recommend a Canadian themed bar called Timber, Stanley Park, Granville Island (not an actual island—it’s their open market), shopping on Robeson Street, or driving the Sea-to-Sky Highway.
