Christine Lynn Grilliot

Bride

Kevin Farrell Donahue

Groom

Stephanie Landy

Maid of Honor

We were acquainted the first week of college when we lived on the same floor and became close Sophomore year when we spent long hours at the campus library together. Most notably one day, returning to the dorm from the library at 3am, we helped an intoxicated Freshman get his bike out of a ditch. We were roommates Junior and Senior years and now have weekly coffee dates.

Brian Donahue

Best Man

Kevin has known his best man since their parents presented his infant brother and sought Kevin's opinion on whether or not they should keep him. Kevin promptly sneezed in Brian's face. Since his professional approval a brotherly bond has fermented through books, storytelling and trips in Shenandoah. Now Brian will act as Kevin's bestest mensch!

Nicole Marie Eliste

Matron of Honor

We met the first day of Catechism when we were 6 and have been like sisters ever since. As children, we were constantly confused by teachers (and even family) because we looked like twins. As adults, we maintain our "3000 mile" friendship from Virginia to Alaska by chatting frequently!

Jack Donahue

Groomsman

Jack and Kevin met when Jack rudely interrupted Kevin's 5th birthday party with his birth. Since then, Jack has been forgiven mainly due to the large amount of gorgeous pottery pieces he has made as presents. Kevin and Christine enjoy visiting Jack at NYU whenever he has a break from his PhD courses in Physics and enjoy going on double dates with Jack and Mary whenever they find themselves in the same area.

Erin Michelle McCarthy

Bridesmaid

We are cousins who have experienced every phase of life together. Our first memories together are in diapers; we played softball together in high school and visited each other in college. She's a roller derby warrior, training to be an Occupational Therapist, and never complains when I squeeze her cheeks like when we were little.

Ryan Copland

Groomswoman

I met this beautiful bastard the day we started high school. I was young at heart and naive in mind. He taught me the ways of the world as we blossomed throughout school. College had us part ways but only physically. As we found our place in adulthood we learned to experiment with each other...whether it be through aluminum casting, skateboarding, or hitting the gym like a couple of bros. I've been there for him in his hard times, he's been there for me in my good times. We'll always toast a glass of whiskey to good conversation and a friendship that will last a lifetime and beyond. Like...when we're ghosts haunting some old lady.

Krista Burdick

Bridesmaid

We met as collegiate rowers at Eastern Michigan and sat next to each other in the boat. We were both referred to as "Kristin" by our coaches because we were so inseparable. After college, Krista visited me in DC and I visited her where she was teaching English in Spain, then we travelled Greece together. Krista lives in Fort Worth, TX and now we run together every week on the phone!

Josh Clarke

Groomsman

We became buds over beers in the fraternity at Mary Washington where we both attended college. Josh is an honest friend, has a great sense of humor and roots for the right football team - Go Patriots!

Kathleen Ann Grilliot

Mother of the Bride

"I stand here on my wedding day Filled with enormous pride Because you are with me As the mother of the bride. The many things you’ve done All the times that you were there Help me know deep down inside How much you really care So as I start a new life Dressed in my satin and pearl Your daughter is to become a wife But I will always be your little girl."

Carl Louis Grilliot

Father of the Bride

"He walks down the aisle, the father of the bride His eyes shed a tear filled with joy and pride He places his hand in hers, as he did in the past When she was a young child…but now, alas She is a grown woman, embarking on a new life Her new role is to be that young man’s wife Yet, no matter what events in her future unfurl She will always, forever, be Daddy’s little girl"

Patricia Farrell Donahue

Mother of the Groom

"I knew the day I met him That he would be 'The One' He stole my heart, and made it his, That person is your son Your raised him to be gentle, Yet strong and loyal too I am about to become his wife, And I wanted to say Thank You For all you’ve done throughout the years, To make him who he’s become He means the world and more to me, Thank you for sharing your son."

David Donahue

Father of the Groom

As a dedicated father takes delight To see his active child do deeds of youth, So I, made lame by fortune's dearest spite, Take all my comfort of thy worth and truth. For whether beauty, birth, or wealth, or wit, Or any of these all, or all, or more, Entitled in thy parts do crowned sit, I make my love engrafted to this store: So then I am not lame, poor, nor despised, Whilst that this shadow doth such substance give That I in thy abundance am sufficed And by a part of all thy glory live. Look, what is best, that best I wish in thee: This wish I have; then ten times happy me!
