If you do not feel like staying on the beach and instead, want to be a bit closer to our ceremony location, then let the charming city of Portland, Maine, enchant you! Just 25 minutes north of Old Orchard Beach...shopping, eating, brewery tours (Shipyard and Allagash, yum!), museums, boat tours, lighthouses and even more await you in this delightful city. The Old Port waterfront features working fishing wharves and converted warehouses with restaurants and shops. Nearby, the Western Promenade is a public park atop a bluff, offering river and mountain views. Its surrounding district, the West End, is full of Victorian-era homes, including the Victoria Mansion museum. You will love everything Portland has to offer. Portland International Jetport is the airport of choice for Maine. Located a mere 25 minutes from Old Orchard Beach, Portland International Jetport provides easy airport access to our wedding destination.
Flight
Boston Logan International Airport is located in Boston, Massachusetts, and is the largest airport in the New England Region. Located about 1 hour and 45 minutes south of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, it would require a bit of additional travel north (and hopefully, no traffic!) to make it to our wedding destination. Renting a car or taking the Amtrak train are great options for bringing you up north!
Train
A great option if you are flying into Boston Logan International Airport and do not wish to rent a car, the Amtrak Downeaster is your care-free connection from Boston, MA, to Old Orchard Beach and even Portland, Maine. Spacious seating, free Wi-Fi, a cafe, wall outlets, and room for luggage are just some of the reasons to take the Amtrak Downeaster train. A cab will be the most direct and fastest way of getting from the airport to North Station (in the TD Garden where the Celtics play!), where the train leaves. Make sure you check the times and purchase your tickets beforehand! Enjoy your ride!
