How We Met

6.7.08

Christina and Elliott's love story began almost a decade ago on a bright, beautiful and sunny beach day in San Diego, California. Although they did not know it at the time, the unique circumstances of their meeting proved to be the beginning of what would be an absolutely wonderful and intoxicating friendship. Months went by after their initial meeting without a word exchanged between them, however, until one night, Elliott found himself calling Christina after a random night out with his friends because he wanted to talk to someone "happy" and "fun." Hours upon hours (about six) of complete laughter and enjoyment ensued, at which point, they both realized that they had a lot more in common than they thought and they really enjoyed talking to one another. So, over the course of several more months, they continued to chat and check-in on one another...keeping in touch every so often and then gradually, more and more, until one night, Elliott uttered a truly wonderful phrase. "I would love to come to NH and visit you sometime," he said. So, then, in early spring of that next year, he came to NH to visit...and the rest is history. <3

The Proposal

12.24.16

Christmas Eve. A day filled with pure excitement, anticipation, happiness, and love, this is and has always been Christina's favorite day of the entire year. This year, Elliott's mother had been visiting from out of town. Knowing and understanding her love of taking photos any chance she can get, it was no surprise when Anne casually suggested that a photo be taken in front of the Christmas tree prior to leaving to celebrate the Eve with Christina's family in Maine. With Amanda on FaceTime in Anne's one hand and her iPhone taking a picture in the other, the couple stood in front of their beautiful tree in their Christmas best to take a holiday picture. A moment later, posing with her hand on Elliott's chest, Christina could feel Elliott's heart absolutely pounding; an exceptionally odd occurance for someone with a normal resting heart rate of 45 bpm. Hmmm....she thought. That's weird. Seconds later, however, pulling the ring out of his sock, Christina looked down to find Elliott on one knee with an absolutely stunning ring (recognized as her mother's diamonds) gleaming up at her and asking, "Will you marry me?" Had it not been for the 45 seconds of complete shock that she experienced, as well as suffering from laryngitis, Christina would have screamed, "YES!!" at the top of her lungs right away. However, a few moments passed and with tearful joy in her eyes, a soft voice, and the biggest smile to ever exist on her face...Christina said, "YES!" And just like that, they were engaged! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you! See you all in Maine!
