Red Sun Fire Roasting Company - The stretched bread with beer cheese is a must-order Bistro 197 - Laura's favorite La Parrilla On The Water - Great food with an even better view of the Oswego River and Lake Ontario Nora's - Casual quick service Press Box - Casual sports bar that also happens to be the team Laura's father plays basketball for Southern Fare - Good chicken and good vibes Fajita Grill - Oswego's version (and the better version) of Maskadores and Moe's
Travel Note
Sterling Nature Center Bluffs - A 1,428 acre nature preserve with walking trails and a breathtaking view of Lake Ontario Adirondacks - If you're sticking around long enough, the Adirondacks are a must-see! This time of year should offer a little change in foliage color. Our recommended town's to explore are Old Forge, Saranac Lake, Inlet, and Lake Placid. Niagara Falls - Located in Buffalo, NY (about 3 hours away from Oswego). The Canadian side is objectively nicer to visit but the NY side has just as pretty of a view, and that's truly all that matters! The Finger Lakes - A wine lovers playground! The Finger Lakes are a group of eleven long, narrow, roughly north–south lakes located south of Lake Ontario. Home to breathtaking waterfalls and more than 100 wineries. Clayton, NY - Located about 70 miles north of Oswego, Clayton is a historical village on the St. Lawrence river. You'll find many boutiques, restaurants, breweries, and more beautiful views of the 1000 Islands Region Sackets Harbor - I had to save the best for last, as this is our favorite town to visit! Though it might be small, Sackets is rich in history and offers incredible places to eat. The antique shop, The Handmaidens Garden, Tin Pan Galley, and Good Fellos (especially this one), are just a few of what makes Sackets so special.
