Things To Do

Washington, D.C., is our nation’s capitol city and is full of things such as museums and restaurants and important landmarks. A lot of them are really famous, from movies and television and things like that. Any of them would be happy to receive you if you find yourself with time to spend during your visit. These are some places we like to go to.

The Phillips Collection

1600 21st Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

The Phillips Collection is a good art museum to visit. You can sit in the Rothko Room! And they have that big Renoir! Lots of great paintings to see.

Butterworth’s

319 Pennsylvania Avenue Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

Butterworth’s is providing the catering for our reception on Saturday evening. We like dining there very much.

Karravaan

325 Morse Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

Karravaan is another top-notch restaurant for a happy hour or a meal. We recommend the spiced martinis.

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

Chris and Tryn work in Union Market and end up recreating there quite a bit too. There are shops and many of the great dining experiences in the city, all here. A modern marvel of rapid gentrification.

AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center

8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910

This is a good place to go see movies. Chris and Tryn saw the recent restoration of IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE (2000) here, for instance.

Second Story Books

12160 Parklawn Drive, Rockville, MD 20852

There are two book stores in the area that are really worth spending time in.

Capitol Hill Books

657 C Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

This is the other one.
