The shrine requires Japanese formal dress code "Reifuku". This is considered a respectful attire to present ourselves in front of the God, therefore, it is rather strict and they might deny your entry if they see it unfit. Think conservative, formal dress! For men - Dark colored suit (black, grey, or dark navy), or a jacket with a nice simple button down shirt and nice trousers. Loud colors and patterned clothes are not recommended. All with dress shoes. Please be advised that casual attire like jeans, T-shirts, and sneakers will not be permitted. Children alike. For women - Simple plain suit (tan, brown, grey, black...), or a simple plain dress, or a combination of a simple clean blouse and a skirt or trousers. Loud colors and patterned clothes are not recommended. Arms and shoulders must be covered, long sleeves are recommended. If a skirt or a dress be chosen, its length should be below knee, and should be worn with tights or stockings. With simple flats or low heeled shoes - high heels are not recommended for the shrine's graveled ground. **Please be advised that we will be asked to take off our shoes when entering the ceremonial building - please be prepared to wear plain socks as barefoot will not be allowed.
