We fully understand your concern and are taking necessary precautions to ensure everyone's health and safety during this time. For more information and the latest COVID-19 updates, please visit the bottom of our "HOME" page.
Our wedding does take place on a Monday, which happens to be Labor Day and also our 6-year anniversary!
Absolutely! We highly recommend booking your stay at Dancing Bear Lodge where the ceremony and reception will take place, so there is no need to commute. Some hotel options outside of Dancing Bear Lodge can be found on our "Travel" page. Due to the holiday weekend and high demand, we strongly encourage everyone to book their accommodations as early as possible.
Unfortunately, there will not be any shuttles provided. If you are staying at Dancing Bear Lodge, you will be within walking distance to the ceremony and reception. For those commuting from other hotels and resorts, free parking is offered at Dancing Bear Lodge near the Event Center and Appalachian Bistro. Overflow parking can be found near the Apple Valley Mountain Village & Cafe, located at the bottom of Dancing Bear Lodge entrance.
The ceremony and reception will be outdoors. The ceremony will take place on the Event Lawn, and the reception with be under the Event Landing pavilion. We suggest that everyone dress accordingly, and look ahead at the forecast beforehand. The weather this time of year typically ranges around 70-80 degrees during the day and drops to the low 60's in the evening.
Of course the bride and groom are hopeful for beautiful weather on their wedding day, but we can never predict what Mother Nature will bring. There is a back-up plan indoors at the Event Center.
With our wedding being outdoors, we want our guests to be comfortable! We recommend wearing semi-casual or cocktail attire, suiting for a rustic Tennessee wedding.
We love your little ones! However, we want to give all of our guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves during our wedding. We kindly request that social hour and our reception be for adults only. We greatly appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time to celebrate with us!
In order to keep our guest list on track we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. Please feel free to contact us with any questions!
Please visit the "RSVP" page and enter your name as it is written on your wedding invitation. Be sure to respond to all events that you have been invited to and select "submit" at the end to send your response.
We apologize about any confusion. Chris recently changed his last name from Rogers to King, to carry on the legacy of his late grandfather and mother. It has been something that he has wanted to do for a long time now. We are happy and proud to carry on the King name as husband and wife, and pass it down to our future children.
Please feel free to contact the bride or groom directly for any questions ahead of time! If you have a question the weekend/day of the wedding, please reach out to Donna Hernandez at (630) 207-4222.
