Chris and Cassie's love story began in South Carolina in 2014. Chris had recently returned from deployment and was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC. Cassie had recently moved in with her sister in Bluffton, SC. The two met online, and it didn't take them long to realize that they were a "perfect match" for each other. After meeting in person for the first time, the two shared many laughs, many smiles, and discovered that they both had a very similar sense of humor. This is one trait they have always admired about each other. After a fun and eventful first day of swimming and hanging out, Chris asked if he could take Cassie out to dinner the following night. Cassie didn't want to scare Chris with her expensive taste on the first date, so she requested to go to Wild Wing Cafe - one of their favorite restaurants to this day. They shared some wings and Long Island's and talked for hours. Before they knew it they had become best friends, and well... the rest is history! Chris asked Cassie to be his girlfriend on September 7th, 2014. The couple has lived in Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Indiana together raising their two fur babies that they bring along on all of their camping and hiking adventures. One thing Cassie and Chris have always appreciated about each other is how they work together as a team in everything that they do. Cassie says Chris is her Superman. One of the dynamic duo's favorite things that they do together is what they call "fort night." They build a huge blanket fort in their living room, make a homemade pizza, and play Mario Kart! Talk about 90's babies! It is a great way to spend quality time with each other (unplugged for the most part) and also add in a little friendly competition. Five years of growing their love, endless adventures, exploring, and unforgettable memories have led up to the Proposal.
Chris asked Cassie two questions. The first question was, "Beach or mountains?" Without hesitation Cassie responded, "Mountains." She hoped that it would bring them to one of her favorite places: Tennessee. The couple has taken a few trips to Tennessee before. They always left with some of their best memories together and an urge to go back again soon! Sure enough Cassie's wish came true. (Little did she know that wouldn't be the only wish coming true that weekend). Chris surprised Cassie with a weekend trip to Gatlinburg, TN for their 5-year anniversary. But this time, no pups. Just the two of them in a beautiful cabin overlooking the Great Smoky Mountains. Chris says it was everything that she deserved. As usual the two were goofing around and laughing, enjoying a couple of drinks on the back balcony of their cabin. As the sun was setting and the sky was turning pink over the mountains, Chris thought it was perfect timing to ask Cassie his second question. He got down on one knee, shared a sweet memory, and asked, "Will you spend the rest of your life with me?" Again, without hesitation, Cassie responded, "Yes!"
