It was 2013 when our paths first crossed at one of my fraternity parties. Cameron, with his infectious laughter and quick wit, caught my eye from across the room. (I mean, have you seen that handsome man??!) Despite the crowded space and booming music, our connection felt undeniable. We struck up a conversation that flowed effortlessly, exchanging stories and laughs well into the night and from there, our friendship began! Despite the challenges of balancing academics, extracurricular activities, and personal growth, we remained each other's support. Through the highs and lows of life, we continued to check-in with each other. ☺️ It wasn't until 2019 that we both realized our feelings had evolved beyond friendship. With hesitant hearts and hopeful dreams, we took the leap into a romantic relationship. The transition felt natural, as if we had been destined to find love in each other all along. Our love and continued friendship blossomed as we embarked on new adventures together. From exploring the streets of Ypsilanti, MI hand in hand to navigating the uncertainties of a global pandemic, we always faced each challenge with unwavering dedication to each other. In 2021, we made the decision to move to Ferndale, MI, eager to start a new chapter of our lives together in a town that made us feel right at home. Despite the chaos of COVID-19, we found solace in each other's company, turning our tiny, cozy home into a sanctuary of love and laughter for friends and family. #HotelGay But, our journey didn't stop there. In July of 2022, we felt the pull of adventure once again, packing up our bags and embarking on a new journey to Fort Worth, TX. The vibrant city welcomed us with open arms, offering new experiences, new friendships, and opportunities to grow as individuals and together as a couple. It was amidst the electric atmosphere of a Maggie Rogers concert in February 2023 that I knew I wanted to spend forever with Cameron. With trembling hands and a heart full of love during “Love You For A Long Time”, I dropped to one knee and asked him to be my partner for life. Tears of joy filled Cameron's eyes (and mine) as he said yes (with a quick WHAT THE F*** thrown in there), sealing our love with a promise to cherish each other for eternity. As we danced under the starlit sky, surrounded by the melodies of some of our favorite songs, we instantly knew that our love was a journey worth taking. From the halls of Eastern Michigan University to the bustling streets of Fort Worth, TX, our story is a testament to the power of love, friendship, and unwavering devotion. And as we look towards the future, hand in hand, we know that this greatest adventure is just beginning.
