My freshman year of college at U of A, Chris saw me walking in the dorm and asked my friend to give me his number. My friend pointed out who Chris was, but I didn’t text him because I didn’t know him and I was way too shy to initiate a conversation with a guy I didn’t know (or so I thought). As fate would have it, I began seeing Chris everywhere and there was an undeniable pull toward him. One time when I was walking to the gym with my roommate, Chris was behind me. At this point, we had still never officially met or spoken to one another. With a burst of bravery, I turned around and introduced myself to him. We had a great conversation but didn’t exchange numbers. Then, a year goes by and the day I get my braces off, I run into him. Once again, great conversation but still no number exchange. After that, I would start to see him everywhere again in unexpected places like when I decided to leave class early once and saw him walking right by me or when he almost ran his bike into me taking a corner fast. Eventually, unable to resist the signs pulling us together, we gave in and started talking as friends. We even created a bucket list of things to do together in Tucson before Chris graduated. Over time, those activities evolved into dates, and just before his graduation, we officially became a couple.
After 8 magical years of creating memories and navigating life together, we became engaged at his 30th birthday party in San Diego. With some of our closest friends surrounding us, Chris got down on one knee with “You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott playing in the background. My heart was bursting with happiness to finally be able to marry the love of my life! It truly felt like a dream come true with the flowers and candles surrounding us and city lights twinkling in the distance. We popped some champagne and spent the night blissfully celebrating with everyone! ---- As we say 'I do' just days before our 10-year anniversary, we’re thrilled to kick off this next decade surrounded by those who mean so much to us and our story. Thank you for making the trip to Cornville! We are counting down the days to FINALLY becoming husband and wife and celebrating with you all.
