We can't wait to see you!

We'll start off with Annie's version: we met on the dating app, Hinge, in February 2019. We'd each had our fair share of meh dates so I was going in with LOW expectations. In fact, it was raining that night, I was tired, and Chris had originally suggested a coffee date (which hadn't gone well for me in the past) and so I had almost cancelled. But instead I thought Chris actually seemed funny and cute so I thought I'd give this one a shot. I can't believe he went out with me - looking back at my nonchalant attitude I'm not sure why he thought I'd be amusing to talk to. Anyway, right when I saw him sitting at the bar I got nervous. He was taller than he said online (6'2" vs actually almost 6'4") and just so so kind (and good looking). So of course I had one too many beers, talked his ear off, didn't ask him anything about himself, and left thinking he wouldn't call because he thought I was so self centered that I didn't ask him a thing. But he did! On our second date, he actually bought beach chairs and beers to take to Sunset Cliffs, finding the key to my heart. Then I almost ruined everything because he is really good at saying how he feels and I'm not. If you know the love languages, we had a little miscommunication about what each others were, and mine NOT being words of affirmation you can bet there was definitely mis(no)communication. But that didn't last long as we exchanged long overdue "I love yous", had "the one" conversation, and here we are. To know Chris is to love him, so all I can say is that I feel so lucky that I get to have him love me back.
