If you wanted to know when Minnesota was going to start a COVID-19 lockdown, all you had to do was ask: What day is Eric and Chinyere's wedding? Two out of two! It's like winning the lottery for awfulness. Well, we are going to try this one more time! Thank you for your love and patience!
What a match! Eric messaged me through an online dating website; he made me laugh with that first message. We messaged back and forth online and each time I got a notification that I had a message from him I would get so excited. It was so easy to think of something to say. We switched to texting not long after. We just texted each other all day. But I was wondering whether it'd be different when we finally met in person. I laughed at his very first message and every day since.
I asked her to meet me for drinks before dinner. If things didn't go well I didn't want her to have to climb out the bathroom window. I got there very early, when she walked in I thought she looked so beautiful. Then she smiled and I felt butterflies in my stomach. The conversation was easy; we kept making each other laugh. I asked if she still wanted to have dinner and she said "Of course!" At dinner I felt so comfortable, it was like we already knew each other. After dinner, we walked outside and waited for her Uber. I wanted to kiss her but I was standing a little too far away and she kept talking. I was thinking in my mind of what to say or do, then she leaned in and kissed me. It was a great kiss, I was so happy and she said "I thought I'd make it easy for you since you were clearly thinking about it." We both laughed and I thought "Was it that obvious?" We planned our next date for a few days later. I knew after that first date that this could be something. The next day I wanted to see her again and didn't want to wait four days till our next date. So I asked her out for ice cream. Now I wouldn't have to go more than a few hours without talking with her!
Eric started talking about us getting married just a few months after we first met. Talking about our future together was one of our favorite topics. Needless to say, I knew a proposal was coming. I needed Eric to give me a ride home and when he got there he was dressed up even though I thought he came from work. He even had a new haircut that he did not have when he left the house that morning. He said he needed to stop somewhere first. It was a beautiful June day, so why not? He drove around and then I realized we arrived where we first said, "I love you." He started talking and I started interrupting! He kept going on and on about our relationship and how happy he was. So, I finally stopped interrupting. He got teary-eyed and that's when I knew what was coming. He got down on one knee. I said "Yes!" He told everyone who would listen that we were engaged! See you in Crosslake!
