Matron of Honor
Sarina, or as I call her "Manang", is my cousin from the Saclayan side of the family. She's one of my best friends and is the sister I never had. I still laugh at the irony of how we're so close today. As kids we were very much like oil and vinegar, today I wouldn't know what i'd do without you! I had the pleasure of being her Maid of Honor, and now she is mine!
Best Man
I've known JT since grade school, playing countless hours of video games through the years. Though we've lived in different states through most of our friendship, that hasn't stopped us from always being there for each other. JT has always been that cool, calm collected counterpart for me. I've always appreciated his point of view and ability to break down a complicated situation into simple chunks. JT is my brother, and I couldn't think of a better person to be my best man.
Maid of Honor
You know the bff that you've known since grade school? The person that knew you during your super awkward phase but stuck with you anyway? That person in my life is Lisa. Wet met in 6th grade band class, both representing the trumpet section. Through out high school, we became the best of friends, bonding over band, punk/screamo/emo music, and working at Subway. Lucky enough, both of us ended up going to CMU. However, it was at CMU that we both started to take different paths. Despite this, our friendship has remained solid and has survived 10 years apart, and will continue on forever.
Groomsman
I met David in Chicago while at college. We bonded over a Final Fantasy art book he brought into an art history class we had together. This loud mouthed Puerto Rican was one of the primary people to help break me out of my shell, and has always been there to stoke the fires of creativity. We continue to create art together, drool over new artists we find, and talk about everything, even with David living in The Bay area. We've been through a lot, and I consider him a brother, and happy to have him stand with me as one of my groomsman.
Bridesmaid
Katrina is my Filipina twin. We are absurdly similar and yet so different at the same time. We first met in Chicago while working at The NPD Group. While there, it did not take long for us to find out that we had much more in common than just being research nerds. After leaving NPD, both of us stayed close and continued to bond over foodie restaurants, nerdy activities, and many clothing returns to Woodfield Mall. Katrina is also getting married in 2020 and we will be in each others wedding!
Groomsman
While in college, I did my best to surround myself with creative, talented people, and Dave was no exception. We quickly gravitated to each other for many of our school projects we had to do. I've always appreciated Dave's outlook on life and art, and always look up to him for that. Through our love of Hellboy, Industrial & Doom music, a good beer, and many early mornings walking out of Late Bar, Dave is family. I'm excited for him to stand with me on this special day as a groomsman.
Bridesmaid
Nicole and I both went to CMU to study business, but oddly met each other in 2008 at the University of North Carolina. Both of us were interns and in Raleigh for training. While there, I easily spotted Nicole because of her CMU shirt, so I decided to introduce myself. I truly believe the universe made us find each other that day. That summer started a life long friendship that would soon make us brothers of AKPSI. After school, both of us moved to Chicago and became our family away from family. Nicole is my rock for life advice, accountability, and crafty DIY decor.
Groomsman
Our mothers being best friends since highschool, we were destined to be friends from the start. We grew up together, with Tim and his brother Chris showing me the path of video games, card games, and all other things nerdy. While growing up, our stages in life were a bit offset, and it wasn't until Tim moved to Chicago that we really bonded as adults. He's one of the kindest, caring, and loyal people I know. He's family, and I'm delighited for him to be a part of the wedding party as a groomsman.
Bridesman
Nate and I met in Fall 2006 as naive little pledges trying to get into AKPSI. Little did we know that people who get hazed together, stay together lol. Many PBRs later, both of us graduated and found jobs that brought us both to Chicago. Moving away from home was a scary but exciting decision, and it's people like Nate that made that transition an easy one. Nate is the brother I never had. We are polar opposites on the surface but have a sibling bond. Nate now lives in Charlotte with his amazingly hilarious wife, Becky.
Groomswoman
I met Jess in Chicago while attending college. We had many classes together, and our passion for art, video games, animation, music, and random nights dancing was the foundation of a life long friendship. Jess has always been the big sister figure in my life, giving me that stern yet empathetic advice that I need. I'm thrilled to have her on my side as a groomswoman.
Bridesmaid
I first met Becky in 2013 when she and Nate first started dating. Nate and I were roommates at the time so I had the pleasure of getting to see her early on and often. Soon enough our apartment was always filled with laugher, Carolina blue sweaters, and butter (lots of butter). It did not take long for Becky and I to start hanging out just us (sorry, Nate!). Becky is my go-to for a laugh, a vent sesh, TMI convos, and all around “keep it real” perspective. I love her. If you don’t know Becky, you will soon learn that she’s the funniest lady in all the land. And on top of that she has a big heart. Love you Becky!
Groomsman
Adam and I were in similar circles throughout college, but didn't really get to know each other until my last few years in Chicago. It was through Adam and our friend group that gave me some of the best years in that city. Adam and I quickly found we had a vast amount of common interests, be it nerd things, music, or art. I find that I turn to him due to his incredibly thoughtful, passionate nature, and he's a kind soul that stands up for what's right. I couldn't imagine this group without him, I love him, and am happy that Adam will join the party as a groomsman.
