If you're heading here, plan to go as early as you can because the parking lot fills up all day! You can also stop here and then continue driving east to Hood River for a visit to see the full Gorge and have some pizza and beer at Double Mountain Brewery - one our fave things to do!
It's a 90 minute drive to the coast. Go!!!!! Go for part of the day, or go for a couple of days. You can find plenty of hotels and AirBnB's. It's a wonderful, quaint coastal town with good eats, window shopping and amazing walks on the beach. If you catch a sunset, you might never leave!
You're in luck! The first Thursday of the month is a fun time in Portland. It's started here well over 2 decades ago, where art galleries all over town would have open houses where locals and visitors walk around enjoy the art and libations. Today is full-throttle fun with outdoor street vendors, food carts, music and everything in between. The Pearl District has one of the best First Thursday scenes for you. We hope you're here to enjoy it!
Do your homework! The Willamette Valley (will-LAMB-et) is one of the most beautiful parts of the state. There are too many wineries to count, but we love visiting Domaine Droughin, Domaine Serene, and Beaux Freres. We also like to have a lunch at the Dundee Bistro or the Red Hills Market.
Ty Segall is playing a concert on Saturday night - 10/6 - at the Revolution Hall. If you're into good old fashioned rock n roll with luscious hints of psychedelic jam, this might be fun for you. You might find Rafael sneaking over there... get tickets at www.revolutionhall.com!
If you know you'll be in town, you might want to get a reservation here! Very Portland... Awesome Korean/American culinary experience.
Home of the Schettini Family and our favorite place to eat ... Amy, Brian, Giovanni, Michele, and the rest of the family will take good care of your appetite.
