FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire.  Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

The general weather conditions are usually favorable for an outdoor wedding like ours. Historically, the average high is 80 F and the low is 59 F. By the time our outdoor ceremony starts, most of the seats should be in the shade, but feel free to bring some sunscreen just in case. A light jacket should do the trick as the temperature cools during the evening.

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be in the same place: Franciscan Gardens. The physical address is: 31815 Camino Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The Welcome Lemonade, Ceremony, and Reception will be in outdoors. However, Cocktail Hour will be indoors.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour.  Guests can head straight to the reception hall where we will be serving finger foods and beverages.

Question

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

Our wedding has an Italian-countryside theme mixed with a bit of relaxed backyard fun. You will notice lemons have played a large role in our design.

Question

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

If you will be around the following morning, you are welcome to attend the Brunch with the Newlyweds. It will be located at The Hangout, in Rancho Mission Viejo. It is an outdoor venue walking distance from the Munro Family home. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Kevin Courtney by July 15th. His phone number is 951-326-9381.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Your best option is to put Franciscan Garden's address into your smartphone. If that doesn't work, here are your directions. Take Interstate-5 (north or south) to the Highway 74 exit. Upon exiting Interstate-5, head west (towards the ocean and where the sun sets). Take your first right at the traffic light, which is still Highway 74, but looks more like a street than a highway. Then turn left at the second traffic light, which is Camino Capistrano. After passing the first traffic light, our venue is on the right side of the road.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive between 4:30 P.M. and 4:40 P.M. to make sure you get a glass of “Welcome Lemonade” and we can get the party started as scheduled! For a complete schedule, please click on the "Schedule" tab above.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

Several parking lots are located around our venue. The closest parking lot is a multi-level structure, located just west of our venue. Another parking lot is located north of Rancho Capistrano Winery. However, this lot is usually full. Another option is to park along the street (Camino Capistrano, El Camino Real) but be sure to park close to the curb to avoid someone dinging your vehicle by accident. If you don't mind a dirt lot, there is a parking lot across the railroad tracks and through the quaint neighborhood path of Los Rios. Here's the address, according to Apple Maps: 31781 Los Rios Street, San Juan Capistrano, California 92675. I'd be cautious walking back at night, as the lighting along the walk may be dim. The final suggestion is to go across Camino Capistrano and park in the parking lots behind Swallow's Inn. This lot is located between Camino Capistrano and El Camino Real, just north of Yorba Street. It's also across the street from Camino Real Playhouse.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Although we wish we could host a larger wedding, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget.  Our wedding is RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

Although we do not have a hotel block, we have listed several hotels nearby in the “Travel” section of our website.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

The RSVP deadline is July 15th and your pre-addressed, pre-stamped RSVP Postcard is the best method to let us know if you will be able to join us!

Question

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Of course! We are very much looking forward to having one of Orange County’s premier catering services provide delicious food for everyone.

Question

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

There will be plenty of food options, but if you are concerned about your specific diet, please call Kevin Courtney, at 951-326-9381, before July 15th to ensure a food option will be available for you.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered at Zola. The link is in the tab “Registry."

Question

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

Because we are not reserving rooms at any particular hotel, there will not be any transportation provided between your lodging place and our venue.

Question

May I take a centerpiece/candle/flowers home as a souvenir?

Answer

We will be proving separate souvenirs for our guests.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We hired one of Southern California’s best photographers to document our special moment. We ask you to live in this moment with us and keep your phones/cameras in your pocket or purse. After we say “I do,” feel free to take as many photos as you’d like at the reception and to post them on to your social media channels. Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #CHEERSTOTHECOURTNEYS so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

If you have questions before September 18, 2019, feel free to email Kevin at mr.kevincourtney@gmail.com. If you have questions after September 18, 2019, please direct them to our wedding coordinator.
