Semi-formal: Cocktails dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and suits or dark slacks with jackets preferred! The Cotton Dock has concrete oyster tabby flooring, so we recommend your most comfortable dancing shoes! The ceremony will be on the dock overlooking the water, and cocktail hour will be outside on the Oyster Tabby. The Cotton Dock has heating for the reception, however, Charleston is still typically fairly warm in October!
For safety and convenience, we recommend using Uber/Lyft as Boone Hall has a designated ride-share drop point beside the parking lot! For our Carolina friends driving in for the weekend, Boone Hall does offer on-site parking with the option to pick up your car the next day during Boone Hall's public hours. When you arrive at the guard gate, please inform the attendant you are there for the Gupton/Chilton wedding. They will direct you to the appropriate parking lot/drop-off location, and there will be a 13 passenger golf cart making trips to shuttle guests to the Cotton Dock!
While we love each and every one of your children, due to the location of the event on the water and space, we do request this be an adult-only evening. We hope you will take this opportunity for a well-deserved "night-off" to celebrate with us!
Either! Both areas are beautiful and have their own advantages. Mt. Pleasant is closer to the venue and may be better suited for those looking for a more relaxing weekend with great restaurants nearby. Charleston would be a better option for those guests wanting to explore the city and nightlife!
Sadie and Tyler have both been vaccinated, as well as our immediate families and a large portion of the bridal party. Both the ceremony and cocktail hour will be taking place outdoors, weather permitting, and the reception will be inside the Cotton Dock with doors open to allow airflow. We hope to have each of you there to celebrate with us, but understand that everyone has to make the best decision for them in regards to attendance and choice of wearing a mask.
We will be having passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, and then a stationed dinner with three different stations and styles of food!
