Anyone who knows Tyler knows his love of all things Arkansas Razorbacks. And anyone who knows Sadie knows her tendency to be a little sassy. In the summer of 2018, Sadie was living in Charlotte for her dream internship and had just watched the Razorbacks miss winning the College World Series with one dropped foul ball in game two. Two nights later while out in Charlotte, Sadie saw Tyler's Razorback polo and couldn't help but ask him how he felt about the CWS. One sassy comment turned into texting and hanging out in Charlotte throughout the summer. When it came time for Sadie to return to NC State for her last year of her engineering program, Tyler decided to make a road trip up to Raleigh for a Sunday afternoon lunch date. One date at Morgan Street Food Hall, and the rest was history!

Every winter, Sadie's family attends the AGCVA convention that her mom, Missy, plans and that her dad, Eddie, is the chairman for at the Greenbrier Resort. Conveniently, the conventions falls on Sadie's birthday weekend every year. As it was nearing time for the Saturday night Chairman's Banquet, Sadie, Tyler, and Sadie's family headed down for family photos. When Sadie and Tyler went to take their couple's photo, Tyler remembered he "had his phone in his jacket and wanted to take it out to avoid a wrinkled jacket". As Sadie waited for him to remove his phone, he pulled out a ring box with the ring Sadie's grandmother had left to her and asked her to marry him. As you can guess, she said yes!
