Flight
Asheville has a small regional airport that is 20 minutes from downtown. If you are flying from a location not serviced by direct flights, you'll likely have brief layover at the Charlotte airport. We recommend heading to the food court in "the Plaza" (between Concourses D & E) to grab a bite and a beer at the Wicked Weed outpost – sure to help ease you into your Asheville weekend while waiting for your connecting flight!
Flight
Charlotte is the largest airport in the region with direct flights from most major cities. It is a ~2 hour drive to downtown Asheville. If you have flexibility in your travel plans to explore more of Western NC, another option is to rent a car and drive from there.
Flight
A third option is to fly into Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, which is a 1 hr 15 min drive to downtown Asheville.
Hotel
The Kimpton is where we (& our pup Roy!) will be staying since they are pet friendly and smack-dab in the middle of downtown. We've secured a 10% discount rate for guests using the link below.
Hotel
The AC Hotel is directly across catty-corner from the Kimpton in downtown. We stayed here on our first visit to Asheville together for New Year's Eve in 2018 and can vouch for the views from the rooftop restaurant & bar! We've secured a 10% discount rate for guests using the link below.
Hotel
We've reserved a block of rooms here available for a discounted rate of $245 for the nights of Sept 15th - 18th. Please note, however, that there is a 30-day cut off for booking prior to our wedding weekend. Use the personalized link below or mention the Horan-Miller wedding if booking over the phone.
Hotel
Another nearby hotel (a 5 minute walk from the Kimpton). Unfortunately they are no longer offering a discount but encourage you to still check it out if looking for downtown accommodations.
Travel Note
If you're looking for more space, we've had a lot of luck with Airbnb rentals in the area during our trips over the years.
