William only had the ring for a couple of days before realizing patience wasn’t really his strong suit. After dinner at a local restaurant, he suggested a walk along Charlotte’s favourite local route, through a beautiful meadow he thought would be the perfect spot to propose. But Charlotte, completely unaware of his plan, decided she’d rather head home to relax and watch a film together instead. Not ready to give up, William tried again the very next night. This time he had reinforcements: Charlotte’s best friend, Ellie, and her boyfriend, Jack. They headed to Charlotte and William’s favourite rooftop bar, where William started to panic when the waiter seated them on high stools at the bar. Luckily, he managed to subtly persuade the waiter to move them to a cosy corner by the fire pit. Just a few minutes later, Ellie and Jack made a suspiciously quick “bathroom run,” leaving William and Charlotte alone. Finally, the moment had come. William got down on one knee and asked Charlotte to make him the happiest man in the world. She said yes, of course, and after celebrating with Ellie and Jack, the two of them shared a few happy tears on the walk back to the car.
