When should I RSVP by?

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM. Guests utilizing the provided transportation will arrive at Shady Elms Farm by 4:00 PM. If you plan to drive separately, we kindly ask that you arrive with ample time to be seated before the ceremony begins.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our wedding dress code is Garden Party Formal. For women, we recommend midi or floor-length dresses in soft colors, florals, or seasonal prints. For men, a suit or dress jacket with slacks is appropriate. Ties are encouraged but not required, and lighter colors or breathable fabrics are well suited for the season. Please note that the ceremony will take place on grass, so we recommend selecting footwear that is comfortable for both indoor and outdoor settings.

Can I bring a date?

We respectfully ask that, unless you have been explicitly invited with a plus-one, you refrain from bringing additional guests. We want every person in attendance to feel thoughtfully included and honored, and we are unable to extend that same experience to unexpected attendees. Thank you for your understanding.

Are kids welcome?

We truly love children and are so grateful to be celebrating with guests who are traveling to join us. As we thoughtfully plan our wedding, we kindly ask that unless your full family unit has been specifically invited, children are not brought to the celebration. We deeply appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

The primary hotel for our room block is listed on the Travel page of our website. The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is a beautiful boutique hotel and will host the welcome party. It will also serve as the pickup and drop-off location for transportation to and from the wedding venue.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

For both the wedding and the welcome party, food accommodation options are limited; however, we want to be mindful of our guests’ needs. If you have a serious food allergy, please reach out directly to either the bride or groom prior to May 14th (the RSVP deadline) so we can plan accordingly with our vendors.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking is available at the venue. If you choose not to use the provided transportation, please use the parking lot located to the right of the venue or follow posted signage and staff directions upon arrival. We kindly ask that you do not park up the hill near the ceremony and reception areas so we can keep these spaces clear and photo-ready.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Transportation will be provided for guests to and from the venue. As noted on the Travel page of our website, shuttle buses will operate on the following schedule. This service is offered for your convenience but is not required. Please RSVP for transportation by May 14th so we can reserve the appropriate number of buses. We ask that all guests arrive promptly for shuttle departures, as buses will leave on time and cannot wait for late arrivals. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to ensure a smooth departure. Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

If you are attending our wedding on Friday, June 26th, you are also warmly invited to join us for our welcome party the evening prior, on Thursday, June 25th, from 7:00–9:00 PM at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco. All details for both events can be found on the Schedule page of our website. Aside from these two events, there are no additional scheduled activities.

What is the nearest airport?

Answer

The nearest airport is Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), approximately 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. We recommend arranging transportation in advance, whether a car service, rideshare, or rental car, to ensure a smooth arrival and departure.
