Your presence is a gift enough for us on our wedding day, but if you are feeling extra generous- below are a few ideas.
During the reception, we will be celebrating the Vietnamese tradition of "Chao Ban." The bride and groom will wear their Vietnamese wedding "dresses" called an "ao dai," and greet each table in order to receive your blessings and gifts. Historically, gifting has been in the form of money- a sign of luck, prosperity, health, and happiness- in a card/envelope. Each table will select a representative to give a quick congratulatory toast to the bride and groom, and may even challenge the newlyweds to earn their gifts from that table. Example of challenges include: taking a shot of alcohol concoction made by the table, kissing the bride on camera, blindfolding the bride and have her pick out her husband, or singing a quick song (use your imagination).
No matter what form of gifting you choose- we are so excited to share "Chao Ban" with you. See you at the wedding!
