Things To Do

Of course central Philadelphia has lots to do -- see Independence Hall, check out the Art Museum, walk through Old City, eat lunch at Reading Terminal, or visit the Italian market. But Northwest Philadelphia has its own charms. Check out some of the places we like to hang out below.

Wissahickon Valley Park

Valley Green Road, Philadelphia, PA 19128

Miles and miles of trails, right here in the city. In early October, the trees will be in color and there should be a crispness in the air. It's the perfect time to visit one of our favorite places!

Historic Germantown

5501 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144

We live in a neighborhood absolutely steeped in history. Visit Johnson House, site of the underground railroad, Cliveden House which is central to the Battle of Germantown, and even a "Germantown White House" where President Washington stayed twice!

Chestnut Hill or Manayunk

Philadelphia, PA

Chestnut Hill is a shopper's paradise. With art galleries and little boutiques and lots of fun restaurants. It might be a good place to stop for a brunch or to do a little shopping. Manayunk, on the Schuylkill River, has a vibrant main street and caters to a younger vibe.

Dalessandro's Steaks

600 Wendover Street, Philadelphia, PA 19128

Charles says Dalessandros is the best in the city, but Lynsey doesn't like waiting in line. If you go across the street to Chubby's you can sit inside, get a cheesesteak, order a beer and catch a game.
