Cody Shelley

Rebecca's BFF

Cody has been Rebecca's best friend since the 4th grade. What started as a rivalry quickly turned into a ride-or-die friendship. She has the biggest heart for animals, and usually has at least 1 or 2 foster dogs in her care (along with her own 3 dogs). In fact, she fostered our dog Fancy and drove 6 hours one way so we could adopt her! Her wife, Chela, a Captain in the Savannah Fire Department, does the same rescue work, except for cats! When she's not rescuing wayward pups and serving on the board of Renegade Paws Rescue, Cody gives tours and runs the Flannery O'Conner Childhood home in Savannah, Ga.

Bryan Pattillo

Rebecca's Brother

Bryan is Rebecca's older brother who is introspective, soft-spoken, spiritual, and kind. As teenagers, Bryan and Rebecca would play disc golf together and he was once a ranked disc golf amateur who competed in competitions. He is a talented artist and poet (he has competed in the National Poetry Slam several times), trivia expert (ask him about his Jeopardy! try outs), and soccer and baseball fan. Unfortunately, Bryan is in school in Japan and unable to attend the wedding - but he's still Rebecca's "best man!"

Rebecca's "Spiritual Advisor"

If you thought Rebecca was the life of the party, wait until you meet Avi! The two of them met over 10 years ago at trivia (which quickly became a weekly occurrence) and they became inseparable. Avi can regale you with nothing but his adventurous and contagious spirit, all the while making sure you have the best insurance coverage money can buy. Avi and Rebecca were once christened the Force of Nature because of their exceptional karaoke duets. He has the voice of an angel and the soul of a 17th century hag.

Peter "Walsh" Asmuth

Peter Walsh (the undisputed “favorite child”) recently got out of the Army (hooah!), where he was serving as a Captain. As Charlotte’s only brother, Peter developed an amazing sense of humor early in his life that helped him navigate growing up with sisters, the bureaucracy of the Army, his deployments overseas, debates with Rebecca, and living with the ‘rents. He’s also a pretty sentimental dude, who happily cares for his girlfriend’s dog while she’s away. He and his girlfriend Jess recently moved to North Carolina, where he'll be starting an MBA at Duke in the fall.

Sophia Asmuth

Sophia (the youngest sibling) recently made the big move from Washington, D.C., to New York and is working on climbing that Publicity Career Ladder. She and her boyfriend Johan share one of NY's tiniest studio apartments. She’s the first sibling who met Rebecca and she instantly gave Rebecca her stamp of approval. Sophia is happy to offer horoscope predictions, drag you to hot yoga when she visits, and give you advice about your next big business idea. Ask her about that time she met Julia Louis-Dreyfus at a work event. You won’t regret it!

Mallette Asmuth

Mallette (Dr. Mallette-y) recently finished her medical residency in Seattle, WA, and landed an internal medicine Doctor job that will now offer her weekends off for the first time in years! She loves hiking around Washington state and traveling all over the world with her extremely patient longtime-partner-and-new-husband Kyle. She’s patiently offered medical advice to all of us (“Yes, you do need to get that looked at more closely at the doctor’s”). Among Mallette’s many skills: she can sleep through anything, draw, run marathons, and live in the 21st century completely oblivious of reality television.
