Charlotte surprised Rebecca with a flash mob proposal!
Charbecca met in January of 2018 on a dating app that Rebecca drunkenly downloaded one lonely Saturday night. Char lured potential dates with their dashing smile and adorable pitt bull, Petie. We met for a lunch date (that neither of us wanted to end!) at Wiltshire Cafe at the Speed Museum. On our one-year anniversary, Char said Rebecca's only mistake that day was "not ordering dessert" because she ended up eating half of Char's... Turns out this would be a common occurrence in their relationship, much to Char's chagrin.
Charlotte blurted "I love you" while holding a bottle of bourbon (how Louisville-appropriate) outside of Trader Joe's only two months into dating. This happened on March 31, 2018; Char has the receipt from purchasing that bottle of Bourbon to prove it!
Charlotte lured Rebecca to the Big Four Bridge using the ruse of scattering their late dog Petie's ashes into the Ohio River. As they looked out over the water, the song "(I've Had) the Time of my Life" from "Dirty Dancing" began to play. A man and woman were dancing and quickly another person joined, then another, and another! Rebecca screamed for joy, because it's always been a dream of hers to witness a flash mob. Little did she know the flash mob was for her! Near the end of the song, Charlotte and Rebecca were pulled into the group of dancers, who circled them as the music ended. Rebecca looked at Charlotte and finally caught on. She immediately burst into tears as Charlotte dropped to one knee and proposed to Rebecca. After Rebecca immediately said yes, she turned around to see a group of her closest friends, including her best friend who flew from Georgia just for the proposal!
